Watching the cocaine addiction documentary on ch5 atm, according to them 'Britain is high as a kite' and in the UK cocaine use is up by 4000% since records began in 1993, so I'm wondering is coke now the new heroin epidemic?
Opinions? I personally cant stand coke heads (the ones on this documentary are no exception) I have never touched it, no way would I poison my body with that ****e. |

Meh, they're doing it to themselves. More fool them.
If they want to end up sat around scrounging off the state or end up dead in a gutter, let them. Gets no sympathy from me |

Yeah I didn't realise how widespread it was till I got older, lots of 'adults' I know (guys in their 40s and 50s) use it on a regular basis and it is quite common amongst my age group I think.. a lot of people seem to see it as generally harmless and something that doesn't have a big impact on you. That annoys me though as they never think about the industry they're funding and the crimes that get committed so that middle class people can get their high. It can also turn into a much more serious addiction quite easily I think and completely change people

Sometimes you have to do tough love. Cut the funds, and just give them food and water and shelter to survive. See how they do.

I've had to work with coke heads in a professional environment in the past, and it's no fun at all. They would disappear in to the toilet at work and come out aggressive as ****. These same people would then go out on the razz all night to lap dancing bars and spend 2-3k every night on the girls and champagne ... and feed their habit .... it was crazy trying to work with them. Having seen all that i've never had the inclination to try it myself.

Was out with a guy a good few years back who had 1500 pound a week addiction.
Cocain is the new recreational drug, it’s seen as the in thing to be doing. |

I have never tried coke, seems a waste of money for such a short buzz tbh
My mother did drug awareness training at work and they were mainly going on about the dangers of smoking..she pointed out that its more socially acceptable to do lines of coke than to smoke, and they kicked her out of the room! But its true.. I know so many people who do coke..usually very well off people in very good jobs, think doctors, lawyers, even police

I used to do quite a lot when I first started working in sales. Long days and after work drinks often meant it was a way to keep going. It's not an enjoyable drug or buzz, it just helps you keep going, get energy, and drink all night, which is how to succeed in the environment I worked in.
I have some stories that people would think I'm making up if I told them. Haven't touched it in about 9-10yrs and don't think I ever would again - not because I believe it's inherently bad or drugs are inherently bad, it's just not fun. I guess that just highlights the differences in the way users are viewed as well; this was a successful office billing millions each year and the drug was just part of the culture, whereas people who worked in other industries or not working at all are accused of ruining live and families.

I know of a group of people who are doing it (friends of my friend) and one of them is slowly but surely losing his nose (doctors confirmed he’s made a hole up there somewhere). If that doesn’t put you off, idk what will.
