"In the first half of 2019, Mexico set a record for homicides, with 17,608, up 5.3 percent compared with the same period of 2018. The country of almost 125 million now has as many as 100 killings a day nationwide."

I'd love to go to Mexico and experience the culture and the art and Spanish history, but it just seems SO dangerous now.

I know you're pretty much safe if you just go to resorts and stuff but I'm more of a Mexico City kinda guy. Idk, maybe one day.

I hope something can get sorted there to make it a bit more appealing to the rest of the world but all I ever see is death, drugs and brutality.

It is wrong to say Mexico is dangerous, its a huge country. Yes certain states of mexico are dangerous, but on the whole the country is very safe. I used to live in CDMX, Polanco is like what i imagine new york or london to be like in 20 years time.

That's awful - you'd think even online publications would know it's "hanged"!

You mean the war lords and gangsters as opposed to everyday people trying to escape this horror? Because he said the Mexicans going over there were rapists and drug mules.

He took it to far with the rapist comment...but the drug mules, I believe..so shared his concern at the time.

...yeah these gruesome killings don’t represent the people of Mexico...this is the rule of drug lords and gangsters ...and when they send a message, it’s brutal and it’s public...and it’s something that many families try to escape ...to find a fear free life in the USA...

Actually a lot of the crime is from vigilante groups against the criminals...in some places criminals need to flee.
