Default USA: New York police officer fired five years after Eric Garner's chokehold death

https://news.sky.com/story/new-york-...death-11789361

He no longer works for the Police.
But many are still want him jailed.

[A New York City police officer has been fired five years after the chokehold death of an unarmed black man.
Eric Garner died in 2014 but his death and dying cries of "I can't breathe" inspired the Black Lives Matter movement.
His death also started a debate about race and the use of force by police in the US.]

[Police Commissioner James O'Neill said
officer Daniel Pantaleo was fired on the
recommendation of a department disciplinary judge.]

...I just watched the vid again with Eric Garner.....I had forgotten how upsetting it was...how unnecessary the police actions were...and 5 years later, after been given desk duties for that time...the police department make a decision about his employment...but still no indictment for murder or manslaughter...?...I can’t imagine how Eric’s family and loved ones still feel about this...

it's not over yet by any means .... many were not happy that he was going to lose his job hence the delay and nobody was prepared to take responsibility for firing him. It's stupid of course, but this is America right now. For example, it was a recommendation that he be fired, not an order.

...and it shouldn’t be over, it’s never going to be over for Eric Garner’s family...the stranglehold used and that choked his breath from his body was not something that should have even been considered...he was no threat, there was no reasoning for what that officer did...and when an officer’s actions take a life unnecessarily in this way, they should not have any protection through their badge... black lives matter and police lives are sometimes accountable...
