Default Do you ever struggle to sleep despite always being tired?

I'm constantly tired yet struggle to sleep and have very little sleep and it's so annoying

Yeah. Sometimes you can literally be too tired to sleep and it depends what is making you tired, if your stressed about something it can be hard to sleep

Thankfully sleep is never something I struggled with, it must be awful though. I wonder if there are some relaxation/breathing techniques you could do to help Adam? Have you thought about asking your GP about it, they may be able to refer you to someone

I did go to my go and they prescribed me with a weeks work of tablet that was perfect I was fast within 30 mins.

But they refused to give me more because they are highly addictive

Oh yeah you don't want to get hooked on those. And was that all they suggested? Not massively helpful is it, its very short term help

They suggested the usual turn devices off, dont eat after a certain time, listen to calming music (which contradicts the first point) they also said try to be in a less stressful environment and I was like if I could quit my job I'd happily do it

Try antihistamines. You can get it over the counter

Their side effect is to make you sleepy

Absolutely, I could be falling asleep downstairs, lock everything up and go upstairs, but as soon as I get into bed, I’m wide awake for hours on end it’s a nightmare

Never had that. I love getting in bed knackered as I just melt into the duvet and drift off straight away.

Normally it takes me about 10 minutes.

The worst sleep pattern ever here.
Hardly and sleep for weeks on end, then 2 what I call decent nights..4 or so hours.
Bed at 1am, tossed and turned a fair bit, up at 8.
Had breakfast started watching the politics and Marr..fell fast asleep in the chair

Do you drink enough water?

Do you take regular daily exercise?

Do you have a regular wake and sleep time?

Reading is a good one. Even if I am wide awake my eyes are heavy after a chapter.

I recommend Rob Innes as an author for helping you to nod off.

Only time I got that feeling was the Sunday night after a huge Friday and Saturday night in the 90s..the dread of work on Monday morning would keep my body shivering like Mr burns in my wet bed.

But I stopped all that and have no problem concentrating on half ten sleeping by 11 nowadays

I fall asleep really quickly (minutes, sometimes seconds...) but lately I've been waking after about 5 hours and struggling to get back to sleep, then I'm exhausted all day. It's horrible.

I’ve struggled to sleep for years , Currently my daughter has a health problem that sees her waking in the night so I’m waiting as it where for her to wake and start talking.

I get about fours hours of broken sleep a night.

If you have trouble sleeping this is one solution that could work.
