There have been plenty of unfunny comedians over the years and they don't get food thrown at them for it.

And controversially I can understand people being more angry and frustrated at a Politician who can have a negative impact on your life over a Comedian who told a set of jokes I didn't like.

Preferably neither scenario happens, but to me they're not comparable.

You have never heard of a comedian being heckled on stage? where have you been Mock

lets keep this in context, it was ONE breadroll, and it missed.... having liquid thrown over you in the street when it come contain anything is scary stuff

It's not a common thing to happen, and if it does there's normally a sensitive subject that's been joked about that's been made by the Comedian.

And imo the only people that would get so offended at anti-Brexit jokes to the point of throwing something at the Comedian are Brexiters, that's not saying that all Brexiters are like that, but to me the OTT reaction from the crowd would be because they're in favour of Brexit and they didn't like feeling like they were being talked down to by the Comedian, hence the reaction.

Again I could be wrong and you could be right, but it's mighty convenient that the Bread Roll incident happened when it was to do with a touchy subject.

I honestly don't know what you are going on about in this post at all but you attempting to move the goalposts by seemingly making out that I'm going after disabled people by saying that it's common sense to think that brexiters don't like anti-brexit materials. You're connecting all these imaginary dots and you are pretending to care about the disability highlighted at this charity but your intent is transparent, you are using disibility as a weapon, you are virtue signalling hard as a way to make me look bad by trying to frame this as me painting disabled people as racists and it's honestly gross, a very low and undignified move.

Do not use other people's disabilities as a tool to push your own political agenda.

Trying to paint this situation as anything other than the most obvious answer requires nothing short of world class logic gymnastics. An anti-brexit set didn't go down well with a pro-brexit crowd. All this other spiel you've come out with about Nick Griffin sheds more light on your own motives more than anything, you're being defensive and jumping to conclusions that don't make sense.

Load of rubbish...Im pointing out that disability doesn't pick sides so the people attending would be a fair mix of brexiters and remainers...probably more remainers to be fair seeing as this was in london..but you will still push the agenda that this was a right wing gathering of pale stale males..or people being snowflake when it suits them..

You will claim your view is the common sense view, when I am saying disability doesn't pick sides, so if course there will be a mixed crowd and not the one you are trying to portrait imo. ..people are correct for saying the crowd may just be fed up with brexit and don't want to hear about it on a night out. .

But you will still push your agenda of pale stale male brexiters being unable to take criticism...yawn.

And for someone who claimed not to understand what I was saying in the post you quoted you put a lot of effort into running it down when you didn't understand what I was going on about. ...a normal response would be to ask the poster what they meant...but no....not you..!!

After watching the video there only seems to be one man in the room insulting people, and that was the man on stage.

...we know that’s not accurate though, whatever the vid may lead to believe...because of what Greg James said...'I was devastated for Nish (who gave his time for free) I was embarrassed to be there. On an afternoon that was supposed to be about kindness, there was a distinct lack of it in the room.'...

we have to lay the blame squarely on Nish who thought it appropriate to drone on about Brexit? it's not exactly a funny topic is it!

Kudos to the torygraph for this...

There’s also a touch of*hypocrisy here. The sort of well-heeled, predominantly white, middle-aged crowd who attend such charity cricket lunches are often the first to call other people “snowflakes”, complain about “woke” culture or protest that “you’re not allowed to say anything nowadays”. Yet crack a couple of Brexit jibes and they go swivel-eyed with indignation and start reaching for the bread rolls.

Since when? Politicians and major world events like elections, brexit, the credit crunch etc have always been fodder for comedians?

if the audience was all london it is highly likely to be 70% remain

they just did not want any political jokes at an afternoon charity doo, and people are sick to the back teeth of Brexit. This comedian showed exceptional poor judgement, if he in fact can be described as a comedian. He thought he was in a hall of pissed up students and it backfired.

and more kudos to the top comment:

"His jokes were ill judged.

He didnt get the response he wanted and ended up insulting large tracts of the audience.

Saying the mash report is balanced because of one token Tory is about the same as saying the Beeb political output is unbiased because they employ Andrew Neil.

He got what he deserved, to insult people and link them to the extreme right was stupid . They’d all had a few shandies and were a bit rowdy so what did he expect."

I guess they thought, if people can get liquid thrown over them in public and its applauded, may as well have some of that

Not sure what that has to do with a comedian's right to joke about it?

I'm bored sh*tless of Trump but nevertheless he's still in the White House and turn on any channel on the TV and there's someone (comedian or not) ripping the piss out of him. That's what happens all the time.

Or, they thought that assault and abuse is only acceptable if it’s against a left winger, from the sounds of it they’re probably people who thought the milkshake throwers deserved a stretch or some ‘public justice’

Nobody would say the BBC was unbiased

As said Nish does satire.. political satire, how can you do that in the UK atm without mentioning brexit? It's the steaming pile of elephant dung in every room! :/

It was, as is the case countrywide of the few spoiling things for the many.

If the comedian is ****e, the audience have a right to boo and heckle whatever the material, and whether he gave his time for free or not
