Not to sound boomery but I would've thought stepping foot inside a KFC would be a huge no-no for any vegan with a head on their shoulders.

Yeah I don't get it tbh... surely it's not vegan to give any £££ to a company that kills 16 million chickens a week

If people buy the vegan burger and not the chicken then less chickens will be eating. Also people who restaurants are usually hell for can actually have a rare junk meal with family or friends instead of always being the odd one out.

This tbh. I guess it makes sense for those following the vegan lifestyle for health purposes rather than morality?

We're not eating the animals. Most of us who don't eat meat are not going to freak out about what other people eat. If we're with family and they want to go for a piece of chicken or whatever, we're not going to look at them differently, that's their choice. I'm just glad that we can have a meal with the people we love in more places than we could before. It feels lame to have to find something else to eat when the people you're with would either have to go somewhere they didn't fancy or be abandoned by you so you can eat separately because of YOUR personal choice not to eat meat.

its a good point however read this

KFC admits selling chicken instead of vegan burger to vegetarians

A woman and her husband returned to the fast-food chain for the first time since becoming vegetarians in order to try the restaurant's long awaited vegan option.

But after eating most of the burger the couple realised the mistake, leaving them upset and ill.

Not really, they’ll still be using the same amount of chicken, except they’d be selling the vegan stuff alongside it, it wouldn’t change the amount of chicken being used

Oh my, that's horrible. That's why I always check my food before eating at any restaurant.

Depends, if more people are enticed to give non meat options a try then that will then reduce the demand for real meat in the long run.

the only way they could legitimately sell vegan food is if they had isolated preparation and cooking areas which they just don't have, so it's making a mockery of it to be honest.

If they don't prepare and cook it completely separately from the chicken then it isn't really vegan.

They wouldn't be allowed to call it vegan if there was cross contamination, they would just sat plant based, like the rebel whopper before they microwaved it, still not vegan because of the mayo, but they never claimed it to be, they just said plant based

Having worked in a KFC for only three weeks, I'm struggling to see how they can guarntee that no meat traces get anywhere near the vegan stuff.
