I'd even add the caveat that if the execution is good enough and the writing is on point, it can compensate for clear political intent. When it's written by the unpaid intern at Netflix with an assumption that it'll get by purely by appealing to a certain demographic ... not so much.

And I agree that a woke Show isn't inherently bad either.
