BBC World News HD
Has a new report that Bird Flu has crossed over to Foxes and Otters simple because dead birds are left and they go to them for food. If you are in an area and dead birds are on the Ground inform your council, who will clear it. That is essential. |

The paper says that a ban against jabs for the virus could be lifted amid fears it will evolve in a way that means it can be passed between mammals.] Last edited by arista; 02-03-2023 at 06:38 AM. |

We had an outbreak in our area before Christmas. There was wild ducks/geese dead on the river banks A poultry keeper up the road from us had their entire flock culled by DEFRA. Our chickens were fine as we’re quite strict with our bio security anyway.

[Both people were known to have recently worked
on an infected poultry farm and have since tested negative. Neither worker experienced symptoms of avian influenza, with both cases found during screening. The risk to the general population remains very low, the UKHSA added. The UKHSA is running a programme of testing workers who have come into contact with infected birds, but is also running asymptomatic testing. The first person who tested positive is thought to have inhaled the virus. The second person is thought to be a more complicated case and it is unclear whether they have suffered a genuine infection or whether they too inhaled the virus while at work.] https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65615772 |

Sadly Bird Flu
is effecting many zones in the UK, again, reported on all news. [Urgent bird flu warning to holidaymakers as experts beg Brits flocking to coast NOT to touch sick or dead birds] [Rhian Sula, a general manager for the charity in Pembrokeshire, said it had deployed staff to warn visitors about the risks.] [A National Trust ranger clears dead birds from Staple Island, Northumberland, in July] [Can bird flu infect people? Yes, but only 873 human cases of bird flu have been reported to the World Health Organization since 2003. The risk to people has been deemed 'low'. But people are strongly urged not to touch sick or dead birds because the virus is lethal, killing 56 per cent of people it does manage to infect.] https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/a...ead-birds.html Sign Of The Times |
