Default Mothers staging hunger strike at Parliament for parents who cannot feed children

I would get 2 Police vans
and remove them to the Bridge road
away for our Parliament.

It is a security danger
as any terrorist can place a bomb in a gift bag.

Loads of places to place a bomb

[A group of six mothers will begin a five-day
hunger strike outside Parliament on
Mother’s Day to draw attention to parents
in the UK who are skipping meals
to feed their children.
The mothers taking part in the peaceful protest
, set up by Mother’s Manifesto,
plan to strike without food from
Sunday to Thursday, with a meeting
in Parliament to discuss next steps
with MPs scheduled for Tuesday at 11.30am.]

Armed Police
are not far from them.

Yeah, they all have flat screen teevees and phones coming out of every orifice, right?

The sad reality is that there are parents who're skipping meals in order to feed their children. Maybe they're just crap with money, or maybe they're not gaming the system enough - whatever, it's not the children's fault.

Admittedly I did strawman you a little

But there is a lot of rhetoric out there about poorer families, especially single mothers.

Food deserts are a thing, where those who don't have cars can't easily access decent food in their neighbourhoods, and even foodbanks can only do so much.

Plus, Home Ec in schools isn't what it once was. I'm on another forum, and some of the older female members talk about how they were taught to shop decently, and to batch cook, or at least to affordably cook. (I know there's a chance they were exaggerating the quality of their schooling and/or learned these things fron their families)

No-one is just born knowing these things, and to be frank if someone ends up a young single mother with little-to-no familial support, chances are they wouldn't have learned these things at home, and schools don't teach them to the same extent as they (possibly apocraphylly) did before...

Sorry, this is one of the few issues I'll get on my soapbox about

I'm not getting into an argument ,I will always question why a child cant be fed in this day and age,the parent will get benefits and help, kids for me who cant be fed are those who are starving in war torn countries and the like, Do you know how many millions of tons of food is wasted in the UK , so no kids need to starve ,they should come before everything

It's ridiculous how supermarkets throw out still viable food, and potentially prosecute people for dumpster diving.

Yes, it's true kids go starving in this country while the UK 'government' is perfectly happy to fund new homes for illegals entering our country.

Costs running into millions of pounds each day.

New homes and flats built especially for illegals.

While kids born here suffer.

Also, what this grovelling UK 'government' does in terms of billions spent on other country's wars, Foreign Aid, etc, is enough to make any British citizen unbearably angry.

So before this is blamed solely on the government again, what about parenting? They get benefits so what are parents doing with that money given to them ?
