Brews that are overly hot. I want to be able to get into it after about a minute and a half of waiting.

The advert where the kid is licking chocolate off nuts and then the guy eats the nuts. Grosses me out.

Oh my lord .. you’d pass out at this …

I used to support an autistic teenager and when we joined a class he immediately sat down and started searching under the desks for old chewing gum then pop it into his mouth !

Had me retching on a fairly regular basis !

Going nowhere in a pointlessly roundabout way on situations, things or people you don’t know in a way that doesn’t make sense (because you just haven’t got a clue what you’re talking about) but being so stubborn to the truth because it doesn’t align with the image that you want to project about this particular situation. Of course the truth’s going to make a bit more sense. Just admit you’re wrong. Don’t hold onto something obstinately because you’re looking for debate or gossip when you know that what you saying makes literally zero sense. You’re essentially rambling on about nothing in actual reality.

The truth ain’t necessarily gonna come at you with a bunch of white carnations but when it comes, swallow it and shut up. Thinking you know situations and people when you actually don’t and you’re shooting yourself in the foot with every clapped line that comes out of your mouth. If you now run to put it on a gossipy or preachy pedestal, you’re taking it up by levels and embarrassing yourself even more.

People still banging on about Covid. It’s mutated and been vaccinated against to the back-bone so much that it’s no more than a moderate cold for most people at this point (and it was never more than that for a lot of people to begin with, Delta-variant aside). If you’re still freaking out, take some fluvoxamine and move on. Covid’s just another bug in addition to the usual cold and flu that people have been aware of since the end of 2019 and that’s that. The direction of your life and its trajectory has nothing to do with a stupid virus.

I still see people wearing masks. Must be horrible having your face covered.

The thing about masks per-se I get. It’s a convenient way to uphold boundaries with people you aren’t extra-familiar with or maybe you want to just … not spread your cold or measles. It shouldn’t have taken people besides health workers and lab. scientists a whole pandemic to realise the benefits of masks but people who wear them specifically because they’re still scared of Covid are just being ridiculous.

For introverts the pandemic was even a blessing in the sense of “social isolation” becoming the norm and in any case it’s good that people know now that a lot of things can be done virtually via Zoom/Teams than face-to-face all the time but beyond that nothing’s changed. Letting your life trajectory be defined by whatever convenient global landmark that gives you an excuse for not getting your ish together or discovering who you really are (9/11, the 2007-08 credit-crunch, Brexit, Trump, Covid) is beyond pathetic. Brits especially just love to whinge and moan about the present moment and there’s always something.

The feeling of being borderline/just missing an opportunity. Almost but not quite. Urgh.

Extraverts taking it upon themselves to be more pissed off than the actual celebrants that you didn’t attend that party or wedding. Like they feel entitled to your social presence. The celebrant’s not even that arsed that I sat this one out so why are you? Why can’t ‘I’m there in the spirit and wish you all the best but I may or may not show up this time if we ain’t super-close’ be enough for some people?

The fact that pubs aren’t really allowed to sell pints in old-fashioned mug-handled pint glasses anymore. Like, what the hell?

i think the pint mug restriction came from an EU directive, which no longer applies
