Hi
I was just wondering if anybody else has had a family member/family friend who suffers from Alzheimer's? My nan has had it for about 4 years now and i dont really get to talk about it to anyone. xxx |

My grandad had it but he died when I was about 5 so I don't really remember much.

My Grand dad has it, he can't even dress him self now, you say things to him and he doesn't remember it 5 minutes later.
It's heart breaking for my dad because he doesn't even remember who his kids are. He's had 2 strokes this year, almost losing him twice. I don't have any other Grandparents, he's the only one i have left and he doesn't even know who i am . He's had it for 8 years. |

I am so sorry to hear that your family members are afflicted with this horrible illness. It is just such a cruel thing for anyone to have.

This may not be much help for those who have this, but this research, seems to suggest a way to protect against it.
Meanwhile, this organisation may be of some assistance to those who have relatives affected by this condition. |

Yes, me dad has it. He isn't really bad with it, but obvs one day he will be, he has had it for 7/8 years now I think. It very hard on all of us, because me and my brother mised out on so much as we were growing up.
