Default Our Science is an 'inspiration'

Quote:
Family and friends of reality TV contestant back him to win show

A COMMUNITY in Leeds is rooting for a contestant in TV's Big Brother show.
Science, real name Kieran Harvey, was described today as the "ideal role model" for young people from inner city Leeds.
Friends said he was a star long before he appeared on the Channel 4 reality show.
The 22-year-old musician, who works at Heaven and Hell night spot in Leeds, sees himself as a poet.
He is a regular in the music studio at the Archway Centre on Roundhay Road, Harehills, and the Host Media Centre in Chapeltown, where he often lends a helping hand to youngsters.
His musical talent is much-respected, say friends and music collaborators.
Science is one of the 12 remaining contestants.
It is hoped that his straight-talking down-to-earth "say what you see" attitude will win him fans and help to keep him in the house.
Mum Marie, sisters Wazzika, 18 and 13-year-old Marika and his grandmother, at glued to the show at home in Harehills.
Days before he went to London for the Big Brother show, he revealed to friends that he was "going away for a bit" but could not say where.
Jay Ahmed, resource worker at Archway, said: "We are backing him all the way. He is a great guy and spends a lot of time here in the studio.
"He is a pretty positive person. I knew something was up when he said he was going away for a bit but could not say any more.
"I thought it was a bit strange him going away as he would spend 24/7 in the studio if he could.
"He is very talented guy, a great lyricist and poet and also an excellent music producer. He always helps people with their work and is an inspiration to the younger kids around here.
"He is the sort of role model they need."
Mr Ahmed said Science spent a lot of time in the studio and was always on hand to help young people with ghetto music such as hip-hop and rap.
"I couldn't believe it when I saw him on the telly. I hope he wins it.
"We have a special plaque on the wall here dedicated to him, long before his appearance on Big Brother came along. he won a spotlight award for young achievers and for his outstanding contribution to the community helping youngsters."
At the media centre Walter Watkins, a friend of Science, said: "What you see with him is what you get. He is into his music big time and always had time for everyone and is very friendly."
