Ok, I know she's an outsider, and not mentored by The Chosen Ones (Cowell and Cole), but Ruth proved she has on e heck of a voice with Purple Rain. For those of you who are a bit tired of the way the result seems to be heading, I ask you, Ruth FANS, TO GET BEHIND HER keep her in the show. Vote for her, don't just say you think she's a good singer!!

I think Ruth as a GREAT voice but I feel that she will be voted out when we are down to the last 5.

What a bad choice of song. But she nailed it with the public vote, thankfully. |

She'll be out soon. Simon has turned against her.

She will be out soon! People who end up in the bottom 2 early on xfactore have no chance! The others have bigger fan bases! And as soon as she is average again, she will be gone!

I can't believe Ruth was in bottom two and I don't understand how Laura has so much support, her voice is so dull and not very interesting.
Diana, Ruth and Alex should be the final 3. |

Laura has an amazing voice! the end of that song she sung was amazing, she held the high notes brilliantly. She is the second best singer there, after Diana.

I think she will be out on saturday unless she puts in another excellent performance, as people will be expecting that of her now.

I think she'll be safe for Big Band Week, but week 4 could be a stumbling block for her. I really hope she outlasts Scott and Rachel, those two are weak links.

The above threads are positive in the main, but only because, as I said before, Ruth is their third or fourth choice, and seen not to be a threat. I believe Cowell SAW her as a potential threat after Purple Rain, and decided to 'let her go', a la Maria Lawson with Louis. Not right!! FLOATING VOTERS MUST GET BEHIND RUTH!! Her voice is as good as anyone's and I ask you this? Who would have wanted their fave to follow her rendition of Purple Rain on Saturday in the sing-off? The only way is up!! Come On!!

Thanks for bringing up Louis biggest blunder (ie Maria Lawson). To this day he still has not come up with an adequate explanation for getting rid of her. |

She has won a lot of new fans with PR. I am hoping she does not for a few more week at least, She really does not deserve to.

I also think her nationality will work against her. I personally don't want her to sing in Spanish for the simple reason I wont be able to fully understand what she's saying - I can speak a little Spanish but not much.
I think Red is right. Simon is twisting it up to get her eliminated. There's has been nothing wrong with her performances thus far he's criticising for the sake of it simply because she's a threat to his artists. You have to question the motives of anyone who can praise Same Difference the way he did last year. I think Ruth is Simon's first target for this year. Poor girl. I wish it was just a talent contest. |

See you would think Simon would want an artist to win this who will make him the most money.
Thus Ruth could be a contender for that, and worldwide fame. There are many Spanish spaeking countries out there, and is an untapped source on his part. She would go down well in most of these countries, and in USA with a big Spanish population. He focuses too much on the ones that will make him a quick buck right now, this instant, but not on the ones which will give him longevity. The only one from X factor with Longevity is Leona. The rest have more or less gone. |

Spanish is one of the most spoken languages on the planet thus Ruth would have quite a big fan base to tap into. Plus, there are Latin Grammys and many Spanish speaking radio stations in the USA. Maybe Simon's missed a chance to tap into that market. |

She won't win, but she can come close to the final. It sometimes takes a shock performance to get people on side, not a gradual improvement over 7 weeks. |

she is gonna go soon, because even if a lot of people like her, she is usually no ones favorite! Most people have her as 2nd 3rd or 4th favorite. SO Some singers that a lot of people dislike, have also a big fan base. Its good to be marmite, like love me or hate me. You will always get the votes. BUt the ones like Ruth are the once you will clap for , but at the end of the day, most will vote for Diana, Laura, Alex or rachel.

All yours is based on assumption. Its likely she will be in the bottom 2 again in the next few weeks, its not certain. Anything can happen. Besides, most people don't actually start backing one person until at least week 3 or 4 so it can all change for any of them. |
