Diana Vickers' bitter ex-boyfriend blasts X Factor finalist Eoghan Quigg as 'the gimp'

X Factor crybaby Eoghan Quigg has been dismissed as just a 'gimp' by Diana Vickers' bitter ex-boyfriend, it has emerged.

Student Chris Jones, 18, posted a message on a friend's Facebook page revealing his true feelings about the 16-year-old finalist who shared a tearful hug with Diana and broke down in floods of tears after she was booted off Saturday’s show.

He told a friend on the social website: 'I know the gimp. They’re just best mates. Nothing’s going on at all.'

The phrase 'gimp' is slang for someone who is feeble, or a fool.

A source told The Sun: 'Eoghan can go on about Diana as much as he likes - it doesn't mean it's going to happen'.

Diana had been dating Chris, who is studying events management at Manchester University, for six months.

But their romance ran into trouble as it became clear that the X Factor finalist was developing a close relationship with fellow contestant Eoghan.

The Sun reported that Chris is 'desperate to rekindle the romance', and he further stuck the boot in by backing Eoghan's rivals JLS to win.
