Default Will the removal of live feed affect the popularity of BB10?

Do you think the removal of 24-7 live feed will affect the popularity of BB10?

Will people still be able to get into the show without the live feed facility, or do you think it will make no difference?

Yeah, definitely.

The live feed helps you get to know them better. Without it, they'll just be perceived how BB wants them to be.

Most definately.

The whole idea BB is to watch people who don't know each other and how they act around each other inside an enclosed environment.

No huge difference because there is very few people who watched the live feed and are angry about it compared to the 3-4million viewers per night
It will have a greater effect on certain viewers rather than the ratings and Big Brother

Dunno, more people just watch the highlights, but the live feed is good if the time is right.

Live feed will still be on E4 late night.

If anything it will make more ppl like it,
I reckon people who don't usually watch BB turn on live feed to see what the fuss is about. Then see people talking like birds and think "what the hell is this? birdwatch?" and switch over.

So with just having the main show they would see the good bits only and be like O.o and continue to watch.

OR these ppl are mental and switch over.

The public is crazy!

It will decimate the hardcore fanbase and the casual fanbase is in decline anyway. As a show aimed mainly at the 16-34 age group and the internet community the decision to chop the live feed was obviously nuts. If Channel 4 can't support their main hit series it's hard to see them surviving. Other commercial channels cut their ratings losers.

It will affect the numbers of hardcore fans who watch religiously, a lot of them on DigitalSpy say they won't be watching. I don't know about the general viewer who just watch the highlights show.

Live feed is still on E4 late nights, not sure about the afternoon feed, could be same as CBB6.

But the whole point of BB is the live feed and that was for the internet.. Many young chavs on this forum don't know that, ban them.. They aint BB fans! Plus 24-7 live feed means the viewers can watch when they want at any time, it don't mean sit there 24-7 watching.. Some did but most caught the live action at around 7pm or during an eviction.. People would watch at anytime.

This year we won't get to know the housemates as the Highlights will only show what BB wants us to see.. Eastenders is more fookin real!

If they only show the highlights at night I won't be watching it because the live feed you get to know them personally and also you get to watch it un edited which is good, thats why i watch it because its not scripted and most of the fun is during the day.

It'll definitely be less talked about by fans and thus less covered by the papers and thus less promoted in the media, so yes.

Of course it will - I think the question most days will be whether it can break the 3m mark.

Those who say it won't because only 150,000 watched the live feed miss the point. Yes, that might have been the ratings at any one time, but over the course of a week many more than that would have dipped in to watch the live feed at some point, if only for a few minutes, and as a result would watch the highlights show that night.

But 150,000 wasn't the red button live feed, was it?

It was probably very low for the red button, that's why they axed it.

But I still think they should have kept the afternoon hours on E4!

Default no live feeds

having just joined and reading thru all the topics i am shocked/disappointed to find that there is to be no live feeds or at least no feeds during the day. WHY!!! this is so stupid ch4 what is the point of live feeds at night when nothing interesting happens. how can the public get a proper idea of the housemates when all we'll get to see is what ch4 decide to show. watching bb is one of the highlights of the summer lets hope that they reconsider!

I don't think so. Its still on at night, right? It's going to be summer, so I doubt people will be stuck on their TV's throughout the day watching a group of people on TV sunbathe and rest when they could be doing it themselves. If its hot, people will be outside.

I don't think live feed is as crucial as some people make out. As long as its there sometime in the day, it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes it will, I see it struggling to average 3m tbh. A 3.6m or more will be seen as a sucess as it would match or beat BB9 and beat CBB6. But imo, i think the ratings will lower than CBB6.
