Big Brother 8 winner Brian Belo has argued that no contestant can ever match Jade Goody.
The reality TV star, who was recently voted third in Heat magazine's Top Big Brother Winners list, claimed that the late housemate "represented everything that was good" about the Channel 4 show. "There will never be a Big Brother contestant as great as Jade again," he told DS. "I first met Jade two days after leaving the house as winner a few years back and felt that she represented everything that was good about the show. "She was gutsy, honest and full of fun, which is what any Big Brother contestant should be." When asked whether he would consider appearing in a Big Brother Allstars show, Belo said that he would not rule out a return to the house. "My Big Brother experience was pukka so I doubt I could top it," he said. "I've been asked many times whether this is something I would do and I'd hate to risk changing my perception and adoration of the show by doing a good thing twice. "Saying that, though, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it." Big Brother 10 starts tonight at 9pm on Channel 4. |

if big brother wants to give an award to a racist, will they be waving the flags for the BNP next?
Sir Michael Parkinson: 'Jade Goody was a wretched role model' He told Radio Times: "Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it’s significant, it’s nothing to be proud of. Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it’s not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di. “When we clear the media smoke screen from around her death, what we’re left with is a woman who came to represent all that’s paltry and wretched about Britain today. “She was brought up on a sink estate, as a child came to know drugs and crime, was barely educated, ignorant and puerile. Then she was projected to celebrity by Big Brother and became a media chattel to be exploited till the day she died.” |
