They need to fill its place with something good, they're worried they'll lose the teenage viewers now with no BB

There are still 2 million+ watching, and its a classic show, and this year HAS been relly good, the ratings have been bad because people just dont want to be seen as a BB watcher (like my friends, they dont watch it because of what other people think), people havent even turned on their tvs to see whats happened this year, theyve just jumped to a conclusion that its gunna be boring...

I take it you haven't seen Big Brother 1 through 7? Cause this BB and the last 2 Big Brothers have been shockingly bad in comparison to Big Brother 1-7. Fair enough if it's your first or second Big Brother, you don't know any better because you haven't seen the others, but if you did you would agree that these last 3 were ****.

They did ask us.
In a real sense they 'ask' by presenting the program and then we answer with viewing.
It goes a little bit further too - they 'ask' by presenting us with products and services during that viewing. we 'answer' by purchasing them or not.

and having said that, it has 'naturally' run its course. That is not even a 'bad thing' but really just the cycle, the changing times, the arc of a creative idea. Its really amazing it went that long. 10 years is a very long time.
Some of the most creative amazing television series with the brightest writers will deliberately end a program at the 7 or 8 year mark so they can 'go out on top' and not ruin it with the inevitable decline.
BB could have done that last season. Going out at the finale of BB9.

The top guy at channel 4 said last year that he wanted to phase out reality programs including bb.
He has done it.
It is time channel 5 took over and put some fresh ideas in and not be so pc

Therein lies the problem. The show is aimed at teenagers and needs to have broader appeal to be sustainable

Its obvious to anyone that those involved with BB have given up on it. Shame that new people were not brought in with fresh ideas to bring to the table. Sadly, the dullards in charge of tasks and twists have come up with the most unimaginiative dross ever to be screened. Do they really believe we are entertained by yet more dance tasks? BB have clearly run out of ideas - roll on next week.

BB needs more REAL contestants, too many fakers that want to become famous turns viewers off.

Ch4 are a commercial enterprise that means they want to make money. The current mission statement is to reduce reality tv programs and increase light entertainment as in comedy and light drama etc.

They also like to be seen as leading the field. They have a lot of hours to fill by not airing further series of BB after BB11. If Endemol could guarantee higher ratings or increased sponsorship then Channel 4 or another TV company would pick up BB again.

One other point Chief Executives have been replaced in the past and decisions reversed.

agreed El proxo...actually some of the best telly stuff ends after even two or three years.

It HAS ran it's course...it needs to be gone forever(unlikely given its potential popularity and thus revenue)or at least a good five years or more.

Don't know why there are constant teenage references. I am very old (not saying how old) and I watch BB every night, together with BBLB, BBBM and live feed. I am gutted that BB is being axed. I am sure there are other oldies who watch and not just me.

Only back from my hols tonight and firstly find out I missed the one eviction I really wanted to watch (thank god for on demand), and then the powers that be are axing BB!?

Neither unexpected. Glad this series has become a corker and it will go out with a bang. Channel 4 have had plenty of brilliant shows over the years and I'm sure there will be another fabulous show to slot in it's place.

Both sound 100x better than Big Brother, Big Brother was a really great programme when I watched (BB1-BB7) then..BB8 came...then BB9...then when BB10 came, I though "I'm not even going to attempt to enjoy this one"
