Sane and insane go together, it's our human nature, it's our nature to think, to use our minds..
What gives me the creeps are them 1950s mental health hospitals.. Electric shock treatment.

They still have a form of that I think, for acute depression. That might just be in the states though. And yeah, if you look at all the personality disorders, everyone has one to some degree or the other. Even stuff like bipolar, it all overlaps. We know alot about mental health but realistically we've only scratched the surface.

Many years of research has helped but still a taboo subject that brings up tabloid images, I think America is more open.. Maybe due to drug companies.

Hmmm not sure, but there have been a few bad ones and still are. I mean some anti-depressants can trigger mania.

Pills aint the answer for the long term, that will sound crazy to many but I stand by that..

Stephen Fry had some problems, I think he still does but over time he has been able to deal with dark episodes.. So easy to think negative when the dark clouds show.

Yeah watched his doc, was quite good, he's on nothing at the moment. Yeah pills aren't the answer, they don't stop you thinking, so whatever thoughts and feeling are there will still be there, almost like pushing the problem aside. It's a hard one though as some don't always respond to therapy either, it takes a little will power I guess but not everyone has that.

Lifestyle change can bring fresh air to the mind, but a mind under any dark episode would feel that is too far, not within reach.. Of course people like Victoria are far from help when they us their brains to fool others.. Like a serial killer.

Yep indeed, like you can be going great for years and then slip up one time and your whole life can fall apart. Plus if you get put under a section 3 you're not allowed to live in some countries.

I can't feel sorry for her, she wanted this and even went so far to fool the doctors.. Still sad but her father was the only one who knew the truth..

Like a section 2 is for treatment but a section 3 is when they know what is wrong with you, and you're a definate danger to yourself or the public.

Nobody should be out if section 3 is that bad.. Not saying everybody is a risk under section 3 because that could be a lazy blanket to cover many problems..

Depends I guess, their history, how many times they've been sectioned before. Like if they didn't know they were ill and it was a first time thing, I think they should be let out. But people will a long mental health history record probably should be looked at more closely.

so true, my best friend died on 15th feb this year - he killed himself. I had been talking to him just a few hours before and i didnt pick up on the signs, i'll never forgive myself for not being able to talk him around, or see that things were so bad. Horrible thing about sucicide is the heartache it leaves behind.

Awww yeah. That is the thing, people often see it as a very selfish thing to do, but once you get past the point of no return it's hard to come back. If you didn't know it's not your fault, there would have been nothing you could have done.
