Default Will the Engerlish hooligans cause more trouble?

In SA - Engerland has history, no tournament without awful horrible hooligans making fights

Name me a tournament without English causing trouble

No - I was talking every major championship that England make the Engerlish make trouble/fights. Hooligans go and battle if Engerland do not win

England havent as of yet..

They put up loads of extra people at the friendly England vs platinum all stars..

I found that very disrespectfulhow many more security they had compared to any other game.. yet we done nothing, no fights or anything (though it was only a friendly).. but hopefully not.

I dont understand how we have such a bad reputation when in russia serbia etc etc even sometimes in spain.. they light fires in the stadium.. they throw flares onto the pitch fire crackers and all sorts..

Get we get done because a few people have some punch ups..

There's always going to be trouble, not just England but other countries. Pissed up blokes normally leads to a bit of mischief.

Agree with this.

Moe successful clubs and countries tend to resort to violent misconduct moreso because they go to matches expecting a win and respect, and when it's not given, or they lose - it turns violent. It's not just England, it happens all over - if you expect a win and don't get it - it'll go violent.

Pishy countries like my beloved Scotland go there expecting a good time, win or lose, and so it doesn't tend to resort to violence. As Claymores said. "We're ****, and we know we are".

If anyones actually interested (I'm gonna guess nobody), theres an interesting article about this phenomenon, it focusses on England and Scotland though.

My basic point is that wherever I go in the world, people associate England with hooligans, not just 'a few lads making merry'

Are Scotland immune to this labelling? I find that very hard to believe.

Even in England your neanderthalic reputation precedes you. The only difference between us in the world cup is one of us will make it a lot further than the other. No prizes for guessing who.

It's just about the only response your childish thread merits. You write a deliberately contentious blanket statement about English football fans and expect an 'eloquent' response?

As somebody has already said, every country has their share of football hooligans but no country is notorious throughout the world for it as England are..

My cousin was in France for the World Cup in 98 and joined in the "celebrations" when Scotland were put out. He said there was a procession of drunk Scots with bagpipes, drums walking all the way down the Champs Elysees singing everything from "Doe a Deer" to "The Back of the Bus is in the Huff" He said it was an amazing night.

Unfortunately he was in the vicinity when England rioted and he said it was horrific.. There were families with children and old people being dragged into it and the only way the police could stop it was to turn the water cannons on them..

I'm not saying there isn't a small portion of Scotland fans who like a scrap but The Tartan Army as a whole are welcomed worldwide in a way which the English simply are not

I'm not into football, but that is incredibly embarrassing. I think it may have something to do with football being the sole outlet, for many people, for any repressed jingoistic feelings.
