I heard it mentioned once. Either way, bar week one he was number one. No argument

For me, 'When Love Takes Over' & 'Yellow Brick Road' trumps the rest easily. 'You've Got The Love' would have been nice if it didn't sound like he was dying throughout it all. His other songs were pretty disappointing.

Yellow Brick Road was his best performance imo

for me Nights in white Satin was his best performance, I see what you mean by it sounds like he's dying but I actually love that sound, it's kind of haunting

Some of the posts on here are absolutely hilarious. He doesn't float my boat, but Matt was in a different league to the rest of them. Rebecca was almost there, but her vocals were very weak and shaky at times and her crippling self doubt make her performances awkward. Matt could have sung anything any of the other live show finalists sang ten times better at the height of his throat infection. He was visibly ill for the last two weeks - and particularly last week - and still shamed the rest of them and all of the guest performers. As I say, he doesn't float my boat, but I'm gobsmacked that anyone would try to argue with his superior natural talent. Entirely different league.

Not really it's one of the biggest examples of his style of waiting around for the big moment to occur, it was very boring aside from the high notes. Same for most of his ballads really, they all merge into one for me.

Ahh ok. And I guess it comes down to personal taste. The song actually brought me to tears. I thought it was beautiful

I did like it at the time but when it came to ballads he dipped into the pool too much I think and that ruined his earlier ballads as they all became boring for me. I'd have liked to have seen more stuff in the way of When Love Takes Over really.

Thats why I got bored of Rebecca. She just stood still, waving her arm, and sang.

I disagree really, She operated well in most tempos. She could do the ballads (Wicked Game, Candle In The Wind ETC) She could do Mid Tempo (Teardrops) and she had stuff like Satisfaction, Sweet Dreams & Show Me Love as well. Her versatility is quite underrated I find. I reckon she could go down the soul route or Dance-ier route and still do well.

Matt needs to find himself a genre or a niche quickly or he'll become Joe 2.0, If it wasn't for his Winner's Single & his lack of will to experiment more, I wouldn't have minded him winning.

Rebecca was amazing but Matt has this thing she doesn't. Both made the best final 2, I loved the both of them since the beginning.
