Default "I want Carlos Tevez out of Manchester City" - Roberto Mancini

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has said he wants Carlos Tevez "out of the club" after the striker refused to play against Bayern Munich.

With City 2-0 down with 35 minutes left, Mancini wanted to bring on Tevez in an attempt to salvage the game.

But after the striker refused to play, Mancini said: "If I have my way he will be out. He's finished with me.

"If we want to improve as a team Carlos can't play with us. With me, he is finished."

The incident in the Champions League Group A match appeared to be sparked by the substitution of striker Edin Dzeko for midfielder Nigel de Jong 10 minutes into the second half.

Dzeko showed his anger at the change, and it seemed Tevez, who was left on the bench throughout his side's Barclays Premier League win over Everton on Saturday, was unhappy he was not called on.

Minutes later Mancini wanted to put Tevez into the game, but instead there were heated discussions on the bench as the Argentine refused to warm up.

"He [Tevez] refuses to go in," Mancini said. "He refused to come on the pitch. What I said to Carlos is between me, him and the team [but] I am really disappointed because it is Carlos. I decide the changes.

"It's a bad situation - it's important for a player to help the team. [The situation] is impossible.

"I wanted to calm everything and put Carlos Tevez on the pitch.

"He [Dzeko] was disappointed but he played a bad game. It is the last time any player at this club does that.

"I wanted to keep the score down and not concede a third goal."

Mancini said a player at a top club could not "refuse to go in to help his team-mates".

"Can you imagine a Bayern Munich, Milan or Man United player doing this?" he asked.

"He refused to warm up and again refused to go on the pitch. If a player has a lot of money to play for Manchester City ... he can't [refuse to play], never.

"I think tonight we had a problem, in this game. Before, we never had a problem, we started the season very well but I can't accept one player refusing to go in.

"We will speak about this with the chairman in the next few days."

The defeat was City's second Champions League tie after their draw with Napoli.

In a brief interview with Sky Sports, Tevez, speaking through a translator, did not address his decision not to play. "I think it's Mancini's decision," Tevez said.

"I've been a professional throughout.

"I put my opinion through that I wanted to leave for family reasons and I still played my best."

City Coach David Platt said: "We are not going to lie. What happened happened.

"Roberto will sleep on it and look at it and dealt with it in the way he sees fit."

The Argentine striker spent pre-season searching in vain for a new club and earlier this month was permanently replaced as skipper by defender Vincent Kompany.

He should be fined 5 weeks wages, given a three year ban and be forced to do community service for 13 hours a day for this disgraceful, childish behavior.

"Limavady United play in the championship in Northern Ireland and our manager would be happy to accommodate Mr Tevez within his squad.

"Naturally, our club would not be in a position to discharge Mr Tevez's wages but I am sure you can see the advantages of keeping him match fit prior to any possible sale."

It is a pity a club can't simply sack a player for refusing to do his job and also retain his registration. That would really screw up these prima donnas. He's not anywhere near as good as he thinks he is. I think ManC should loan him out to a league 1 club for the rest of his contract

He has a say in where he goes they can't just loan him to anyone.

Not sure where he will end up I think this will have put a lot of clubs off signing him

Tevez is a selfish, spoilt arrogant brat with a bad attitude. Not professional to refuse what he is paid a joke of Ł286,000 a week to play football when hardworking people don't get as much but are grateful for every opportunity in life.

Tevez is also controlled by that prick of an agent too much, he's been given time off to see his family in Argentina before but it wasn't enough. I used to like him too before he went to City.

Tevez thought the City fans would forgive him straightaway after his latest stunt, how wrong he is.
