I thought that. Yes it was a silly thing to say, but it clearly wasn't meant as racist, only a fool would suggest otherwise. I understand why BB had to pull her up on it though, but the reaction of this compared to Conor threatening to violate a woman with a brush is ludicrous. All he got was a slap on the wrist.

Disagree. If she called him a rhino or a polar bear, I doubt we'd be having this conversation. It's controversial because of the specific animal she used, which has historically been associated with a racial slur. If someone called Beckie a whale for example, I don't think the initial reaction would be that it's racist.

I have called people gorillas before, if they were big and smelly or something, and I would hate to be accused of being racist if any of those people just happened to be black. She should have been told it could be taken the wrong way and given her a chance to explain, but a formal warning is just ridiculous.
