Trustees of an 18th century fort are furious after a porn film was made at the site just weeks after its restoration.

The Heritage Lottery Fund, backed by the National Lottery, had donated £50,000 to re-open Fort Amherst in Chatham, Kent.

However, once work was completed on the historic landmark, Playboy TV hired the fort at a cost of £1,200 ($1,930) to shoot explicit Knight Rider spoof Tight Rider, The Sun reports.

Fort bosses are said to be "fuming" that the shoot was allowed to go ahead in May. Matthew Hill, a trustee of the Fort Amhurst Heritage Trust, has demanded a full investigation.

"I think it is absolutely appalling - there must be better ways of raising funds through filming rights," he said. "I think if you want to film a porn film, do it in a warehouse or wherever they do it."

The movie, which stars Michael Tight and Slovakian porn star Natalli D'Angelo, was shot over ten hours in the many tunnels of Fort Amherst.

Local council chiefs were also left embarrassed, since the council had used the fort's re-opening as part of its bid to get the area listed as a World Heritage Site.
