Default Burglar leaves name, address at scene of crime...

A hapless burglar has been caught after leaving his name and address at the scene of the crime.

Criminal Daryl Lewis fled after he was caught in private rooms at Ferndale Lodge in St Marychurch, Torquay, by the owner, but dropped his wallet.

He was also photographed leaving the scene in July by a passer-by. The 40-year-old had taken a widow's wedding and engagement ring, BBC News reports.

Lewis, who was caught burgling another guesthouse while on bail, was jailed for 30 months at Exeter Crown Court after admitting two counts of burglary. He had only just been released from prison when the first incident occurred.

Judge Francis Gilbert QC told him: "You stole a wedding and engagement ring from an 85-year-old widow which caused her immense upset and distress because they had been given to her by her late husband."

Earlier this year, a man who stole over $60,000 worth of computers from the home of Steve Jobs was caught after he switched one of them on.

I wonder if it was near Shaun?
