He is not a cop. Not even remotely close. Anyone can be part of a neighbourhood watch.

That in itself shouldn't be a problem, a neighbourhood watch member is only supposed to do that..........watch. The problem is with their gun laws imo

He was in no way shape or form a cop...He was a vigilante.
The CCTV footage shows no marks on the man following the incident whatsoever.

Photos showing injuries to the alleged murderer of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin are among a mass of evidence that has been made public for the first time.
Nearly 200 documents, photos and audio recordings related to the case have been released - revealing the 17-year-old was shot through the heart at close range. It also emerged that an FBI expert found crucial evidence in the case - which has sparked civil rights protests and debates over guns laws across the United States - was inconclusive. The expert said it was impossible to tell if the voice heard screaming for help belonged to Trayvon or his shooter George Zimmerman just before the neighbourhood watch volunteer pulled the trigger. Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder, says he was being beaten up before he fired the fatal shots and photos released show him with a bloody nose and cuts on his head. Also among the evidence was a document from Trayvon's autopsy showing he had cannabis in his system at the time of his death on February 26. Police initially declined to arrest Zimmerman, citing Florida's 'Stand Your Ground' self-defence law. But a special prosecutor who was subsequently appointed charged him with second-degree murder -which Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to. Relatives of both Zimmerman and Martin insist the voice heard screaming for help on a 911 emergency was their family member pleading for his life. The cries were silenced by a single shot from Zimmerman's Kel Tec 9mm handgun. Kenneth Marr, a specialist with the FBI's digital evidence laboratory, concluded: "Critical listening and digital signal analysis further revealed that the screaming voice of the 911 call is of insufficient voice quality and duration to conduct a meaningful voice comparison with any other voice samples." His report added that the audio sample was "produced under an extreme emotional state," making it difficult to analyse. Sky |

The neighbourhood watch volunteer who killed an unarmed black teenager in a case that outraged America has been ordered to return to custody.
George Zimmerman has 48 hours to surrender to authorities after the judge ruled he had misled the court at previous hearings. Zimmerman, 38, says he shot Trayvon Martin in self-defence after the two clashed at a gated community in Sanford in Florida in February. The killing prompted nationwide protests after police initially released him without charge. Zimmerman, who has pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder, was originally released on a $150,000 bail bond. Prosecutors say he misrepresented his financial status by failing to disclose several hundred thousands dollars in an account set up as a legal fund to receive donations from supporters. The state attorney also says Zimmerman failed to mention that he had another passport when surrendering one to the authorities. Zimmerman’s lawyer, Mark O'Meara, told the court the failures were the result of an innocent misunderstanding. But judge Kenneth Lester ordered the bond be revoked and for Zimmerman to report to the Seminole County Sheriff. Meanwhile, media organisations have applied to the court for access to thousands of pages of evidence in the case. The prosecution and defence had agreed it should be withheld to protect details of witnesses and statements made by Zimmerman after the shooting. But Prosecutor Bernie De La Rionda said: "What's occurring, unfortunately, are cases are being tried in the public sector as opposed to in the courtroom. “We are in a new age with Twitter, Facebook, and all these things I've never heard of before in my career. Everybody gets to find out intimate details about witnesses that never occurred before. Witnesses are going to be reluctant to get involved." Evidence released so far appears to confirm that Zimmerman suffered injuries consistent with his story that Trayvon Martin had assaulted him. But 911 calls have revealed that emergency service operators told Zimmerman not to leave his car to pursue the 17-year-old as he walked across the community. Sky |

From the evidence I've seen, it seems he is innocent. It's a problem with the laws. But you still have to follow the laws. and the laws say it's perfectly fine to carry a gun, and it's perfectly okay to use it if someone attacks you and you fear for your life.
Based on the injuries, it does seem that Trayvon martin attacks george Zimmerman first, and that George Zimmerman did fear for his life. Trayzon had injuring to his knuckles consistent with attacking someone and no other injuries except the bullet wound. Zimmerman had injuries consistant with his story that Martin punched him and he fell and then Martin got on top of him and started beating his head into the ground. Zimmer had injuries to his nose and to the back of his head to back that up. Obviously Trayvon Martin could not have gotten the injuries to his knuckles After he was shot in the heart, it would have killed him instantly. which means he must have attacked Zimmerman first. Personally i disagree with carrying guns and i disagree with the stand your ground law, but the court is not there to decide if the law is good or not, the court is there to enforce the law that politicians make. It doesn't sound like George Zimmerman did anything illegal.

if anything it sounds like the jury is best for the prosecution, because women are less inclined to support the stand your ground law, right? Women in general are less supportive of gun laws, so the Trayvon Martin camp should be happy about this jury.

You can argue that white jurors are just as racist against hispanics as they are against blacks, so it kind of balances itself out, doesn't it? Zimmerman is not white, so how is having a majority white jury in his favor? He looks like a fat mexican to me. (not that there's anything wrong with that)

The Trayvon supporters keep on desperately trying to make it seem like he was killed by a white man. He wasn't killed by a white man, he was killed a by a brown man, an hispanic, a latino.
