Just because hes gay doesn't mean he represents gay people. Dirk is straight, do you see him representing straight people?

I dunno, yeah gay people are a minority, but really sexuality is irrelevant. Its like saying someone with brown eyes represents all brown-eyed people lol

He didn't put himself up for Mr Gay UK, therefore he is not representing gays, he is himself and he represents himself.

Gays may be a minority but there are plenty of gay people on TV these days...

I'm not sure.

I don't agree with gay men who publicly come out in the papers. I fail to see the point. For me if he's asked a question about his sexuality he should simply answer it . Why go to the papers? I've never understood that.

But they are being themselves, so you are saying they should change who they are to suit who, you?

Ian should not have gone on BB unless he was "perfect", because only then could he give a "correct representation" of gay people?

Understandable, but he knew he was going into the BB house, so perhaps he wanted to let people know rather than other people coming forward saying he was gay and making money off of him.

I get what you mean, gay men are stereotyped to be camp and feminine etc. and this makes people believe that all gay men are like that when that isn't the case at all. I have a number of gay friends that people automatically assume are straight

He's a coward. I liked him in the house but he was aware of being a coward when Davina showed him the evidence - so I think he was trying to make up for it in the BBBM studio.
He failed, haha.

Steps only wanted to be a gay when he went in the house. surely you need to do a few months/years graft before you represent anyone.
