Yes, they interviewed Daleys girlfriend then stuck him in the safe house with Hazel. The interview with Daley was a wash out, in fact i think all the interviews have been, Sophie no exception she cheated during noms and hasnt been pulled on it, the should of had some footage of her tittle tattling to her why shes out, none of that happened. Big brother conducted the face to face noms appaulingly or that wouldnt of happened. They have used tasks to bias HM's or favour them in accordance to who they noms. Dan wouldnt have gone if they hadnt changed the safe house rules.
The tasks have been half hearted. There was alot of days where nothing happened. There seems to be less good tasks and more attempts to turn HM's on eachother for entertainment. From what it sounds like from those who watch the live feed it also sounds like BB have been censoring some HM's clips to look more favourable. From what BB has shown, for me Dexter deserves to win. A person is as entertaining as the person they bounce off of, and as much as you dislike him it is possible the HM you like may be as a result of this. I like Sam but his only as goid as his nemesis same as Callum. Even Callum admits he'd watch Dexter if he was a viewer. Dexter has made me laugh as a stand alone HM too. I would not have enjoyed this series if not for Dexter and Gina as much as people including me may not be a fan if their back stoory. |

Yes
And no... before people start moaning at me i'm not just saying this because Sam was evicted. I said the exact same thing weeks ago near the beginning. My main gripe is that year after year everything is the same. There is no individuality between each series. The house may have changed this time around but that's all. The twists are weak. We've had three safe houses and two money twists in C5's series alone not counting those done in the C4 era. Even the big twist this year had to include the prize money, even if they didn't actually give it out in the end. And don't get me started on F2F/F&F noms. As has been suggested above, we need big ones again like those from C4. I miss being really excited about a twist. I still remember watching the golden ticket housemate get picked, the housemates entering the secret house, the shock eviction in BB9... all of which happened live by the way, we didn't have to find out about them through some tweets like we do these days. The same can be said for the tasks. I found very few of them this year to be any good. Look at BBUS/CA > why can't we have some big physical tasks like they do? Why so few overnight tasks? Maybe we could try including a have/have not system as suggested above, it would certainly change things up. Perhaps we could give the HOH system a go too for a series just because it would be something different, giving them their own room etc like in the US/CA version. Also, how about for once they try being strict again? Secrets and lies... the basement... none of these things last, they're always having parties and takeaways by the end. Always the same. The jail this year was better than the old "hot water turned off" punishment but it still isn't great, some harsher punishments would be an appreciated change. They just don't take enough risks. What I really want is a good 3-4 year break and then for them to come back with a whole new production team ready to go and make it the great show it used to be. Unfortunately that will never happen and they'll keep on cramming more and more CBB's into their schedule until people get sick of the whole show then they'll cancel everything... I can still watch BB but it just makes me sad to see what has become of it when it used to be so good. Last edited by RichardG; 16-08-2013 at 10:40 PM. |

Yep just look at this series the best weeks have been when Michael was the fake HOH nominating people for eviction, Gina being in a HOH like role for the shopping task and this week with the very BBUSA like money task/Dexter saving himself for Sophie. It all points to taking on the format completely!

They need to give the present Production Team the heave-ho for sure. Next year they should appoint a professional team - not a crowd of out of work juniors who are ineffectual and have no skill in NOT insulting us...They did not give clear instructions, they did not deal with the cheating and they totally over-egged the so called twists. RANK AMATEURS...
So if they get a good team in with a dynamic, fresh and effective approach YES - run it again...If the same team do it next year - forget it. Our forum (by far the most entertaining part of BB at times) will have tumbleweed all over it and the whole thing will implode and no-one will watch... Ugh no. Maybe I'm being selfish but when you live in North America you kinda watch other BB's to get away from the us format tbh.

I think they've already "tweaked it" far too much. They should strip it back to basics next year and have it as it was in the beginning without any of the stupid twists, or secret rooms or messing with the nominations. I think they should pick bigger characters if they want drama and not rely on stupid "shock" tactics, which don't actually shock anyone!

Can someone explain what the BBUS format is. Isn't there a public vote?

"HouseGuests" (contestants) are sequestered in the Big Brother House with no contact to or from the outside world. Each week, the HouseGuests take part in several compulsory challenges that determine who will win food, luxuries, and power in the House.[43] The winner of the weekly Head of Household competition is guaranteed a week of safety and nominates two fellow HouseGuests for eviction. After a HouseGuest becomes Head of Household, he or she is ineligible to take part in the next Head of Household competition.[44][45]HouseGuests usually also take part in weekly Have vs. Have-Not competitions in which they are divided into either the "Haves" or the "Have-Nots" depending on their performance in the competition. HouseGuests that become "Have Nots" for the week have to eat "Big Brother slop" along with a weekly food restriction (chosen by the viewing public), take cold showers, and sleep on beds that look like airplane seats. The winner of the Power of Veto competition wins the right to revoke the nomination of one of the nominated HouseGuests. If the Veto winner uses this power, the person (Head of Household or M.V.P.) who nominated the vetoed player must immediately nominate another HouseGuest for eviction. On eviction night, all HouseGuests except for the Head of Household and the nominees vote to evict one of the three nominees.[45] This compulsory vote is conducted in the privacy of the Diary Room by the host Julie Chen. In the event of a tie, the Head of Household casts the deciding vote, announcing it in front of the other HouseGuests.[47] Unlike most other versions of Big Brother, the HouseGuests may discuss the nomination and eviction process openly and freely.[45] The nominee with the greatest number of votes will be evicted from the House on the weekly live broadcast, exiting to an adjacent studio to be interviewed by Chen,[47] after which the cycle begins again. HouseGuests may voluntarily leave the House at any time and those who break the rules may be expelled from the house by Big Brother.[48][49] The final nine HouseGuests evicted during the season will vote for the winner on the season finale. These "Jury Members" will be sequestered in a separate house and will not be allowed to watch the show except for competitions and ceremonies that include all of the remaining HouseGuests. The jury members will not be shown any Diary Room interviews or any footage that may include strategy or details regarding nominations.[50] Whereas in past seasons, the Jury consisted of the last seven evicted HouseGuests, this season increased the number of jurors to nine.

Every week, a competition is held and the winner becomes the Head of Household. This person then later decides the two housemates who will face eviction for this week. A veto competition is later held. The winner of this has the power to remove one of the two housemates up for eviction, and if they do so then the HOH has to put up a new person to replace them. Then, at the end of the week, all the housemates are called into the diary room one by one to state who they would like to see get evicted. The person with the most amount of votes will leave. |

Genuinely think there is a huge amount of life left in the show if it keeps to the same basic format. The casting is the most important, depending on the housemates there is so much potential for it to be really different each year as long as they pick the right people

I wouldn't mind if they cancelled the main show and just kept the Celebrity version.
They could probably afford better celebrities that way. Plus it's shorter, I feel like civilian BB drags on. |

I don't think it's down to the twists and turns from the production team thats the issue. It's been fun to watch and lots of tasks have been great. The problem lies in the housemates chosen to go in. They all go through the process to get on BB, once they learn that they are gonna be on BB they get very excited, launch night comes and they are very upbeat thinking wow i'm on BB and i have a one in fifteen chance to win this show, but then up pops the disabled housemate to burst their bubble and you can see their interest wane as they hobble down the stairs to greet them on launch night.

Is a brilliant series in some regards and I've loved it.
Great tasks and some interesting quirky housemates like Gina, Dex and Charlie (well for me cos I can see her acting the pain up the arse) who are really likeable. But they're trying to dumb far down too much as frivilous entertainment and BBOTS should be focusing on gameplans a lot more. Same thing for gameplayers if they haven't got one they shouldn't go in. |
