Default can we just appreciate

the fact they've dropped the flash vote

for once the producers have actually got something right and listened to their audience

Yeah, props to them for realising it was failing. Hope they never try anything so ridiculous again. I still want one deadlock before the end of the series though

Next year they need to bring back opening the phone lines before the performances, that's one change that actually worked.

You actually can't do that though, all they have to do is just not say anything, you can't sack them live on air

As I said the other day the only way that they can actually be forced to have an affect on a result is by getting them to vote third if it's 2-0, or fourth if it's 1-1. That way if they abstain an act goes home, and if they vote an act will still go home, probably via deadlock

The judges take advantage of being able to abstain because the directors are stupid enough to ask Dermot to go them first, most people including myself would easily refuse to vote given such an easy opportunity

They'd quit the show the only way to get around this issue is to bind it into their contract before the series but it really isn't that much of an issue for ITV to go to those lengths
