Default X Factor 2013 winner Sam Bailey wants to get away from the spotlight already

X Factor winner Sam Bailey has revealed she’s already planning to get away from her new found fame.

Just a week after winning the show, Sam hopes to take a well deserved break away from the spotlight here in the UK.

The 36-year-old told the Daily Mirror newspaper how she hoped to treat her husband Craig after almost three months away, taking part in the live shows in London.

“I know it’s been tough for him. I have some making up to do,” she explained. “He deserves to be treated so I’m going to take him shopping and buy him loads of really nice clothes, which I’ve always wanted to do.

“We’re going away just after Christmas, somewhere where I won’t be recognised, to spend some time together.”

Speaking to the tabloid today, Sam insisted however she won’t be splashing out too much, having so far only indulged herself by buying a handbag… and hiring an accountant.

Dismissing the idea that she was set to scoop £1 million off the show and her newly signed record deal, Sam laughed: “If it was, I’d be out there looking for that new house.

“I’m excited I’ve finally got a Louis Vuitton bag that’s not from Turkey. But I’ve never really had money to spend before, so I’m going to get the things I’ve always wanted and the rest is going to be used to extend our house.”

The down to earth mum added: “I’m still going to carry on shopping for clothes in Primark and New Look.”

I'm actually impressed that she isn't doing what Miley Cyrus is doing and trying to get every single thing about herself on the Papers 24/7 everyday.

Agree. It's fine if a contestant wins then becomes a pregnant/ parent a year after winning, that happens obviously to most established stars ( recent examples Robbie Williams, Beyonce, Lily Allen, Kanye West, Pink). However, if you start your career as a parent especially a mum, time apart from kids touring and in studio will be an issue, controversially quality of music from parents become duller imo Beyonce is tedious as is Pink now)

What Miley does creates publicity and as a subsequence her records sell. Nudity, white girl twerking, managed sluttiness sells. If a boring old school diva like Celine Deon had imo sung Wrecking Ball it would barely scrape top 10, no one under 30 would buy it. It would quietly drop out of top 40 2 weeks later...

Linkin Park are still very popular and make great Music though despite being over 30, having kids, and not being sluts on their Music Videos.

The thing that should scare Sam Bailey is that she lacks a style of Music, it will seriously come to bite her in the ass.

Simon cowell obviously backed the wrong contestant, the whole show was set up from the start for Sam to win. They should have backed Shell as she wouldn't have cracked under the pressure! I think they made a huge mistake the way they treated Shell

Shelley got less votes than everyone in the first week despite not being the worst on the night, Shelley was never going to win.

Simon cowell picks which contestant he wants to win before the show even airs and then makes sure they get plenty of air time in the early auditions. The reason Sam b won and She'll only lasted 2 weeks had nothing to do with talent or personality, it was all down to the way simon manipulated the public.

Tbf I can agree with you on that, they made sure that Sam B went into a one on one with Nicholas making sure that she would win.

1) Linkin Park are male - males genuinely don't have to sell male sexuality to sell eg Eminem, Phareell, Calvin Harris, Snoop Dog, Bastille none of these acts twerk, sit nude on a wrecking ball, shake bare but cheeks, crawl about in knickers

2)Linkin zpark were popular at their peak 15 years ago, those days are on the fade. Their rap metal seems a bit passe now. Sure some kids will like them, but lets be honest more likely to see someone my age (late 30s) than a cool edgy 19 year old as a fan. Sad thing is a 15 year old girl is more likely to have 1D on her iTunes.

3) Pink's maintained her popularity by growing with her fans, Truth about Love sold but probably to 30year old mums rather than 18 year olds. Hence the rise of Miley as pop's new bad girl. Pink is now a sensible mum. Hardly wild.

What on earth are you on about. What we don't want is untalented, attention-seeking, fame wannabess barely out of nappies winning the show - just cheapens the whole thing. We don't all want cheap.

This is mabybe why under 16's shouldn't vote - blatant age and sexual discrimination. What next, only those of a certain age, sex, race and sexual orientation should win?

Shameful post.

The headline is very misleading, all she has really said is she wants a break away with her husband, that's hardly leaving the spotlight.

I understand the need for a break but Sam needs to play it right else she'll fade out just as quick.

That said we never hear of TXF winner until their debut album and single are ready, which is probably half the problem.

Right? what we need is cruise ship Sam, who has zero star potential and doesn't appeal to 90% of music buyers hence why she's already flopping just with her winners single

I'm wondering why people who liked Sam and were happy for her to win have suddenly changed their minds because a some tabloid fairy tale, people are so fickle.

90% of music buyers are not teenagers buying pop music. In your narrow experience, you may think pop music and the charts is the be-all and end-all in music - but wake-up call, it isn't.

Many of those that do acheive a certain level of success in the pop industry tend to have short careers as it is a very fickle element of the music industry and the kids that love it eventually grow up and develop a wider taste in music. Fact.

Considering X Factors target market is pop it pretty much is the be-all and end-all for Sams career. It's not like she's gonna be flying up the alternative chart either to make up for it.
