I have lost count of the times I have noticed people saying 'Katie Hopkins is just speaking the truth' to defend her vile comments both in the house and now it seems her comments out of the house are being defended in the same way.

So my question is, why then is her just 'speaking the truth' always nasty, malicious, horrible and never a nice truth, never does she say something useful, endearing etc and claim it's just the truth?

Also when anyone tells her the truth (as they see it) her face goes pretty flushed because she can't take back what she gives out, but thats another thread.

I think it's always been obvious she thrives on confrontation that's why I don't understand people defending her by saying otherwise when she admits these things herself.

Maybe look into your siggie a bit more Josy,he seems to have sussed it but there and loads and loads of suck arses for us to love,we need people who are not scared to be hated by just giving an opinion,I like her for that,she may be scathing and sounds sometimes cruel,but,she's certainly brave in my book,it would be so simple for her to go along with the flow.

Why do we need people to speak our opinion? We are well capable of speaking our own opinions.

But honestly the point of my OP wasn't for people to explain why they like Katie Hopkins again, it was asking if she's only 'speaking the truth' why are none of those truths ever nice, or not even nice but just not nasty?

But if its all true, what about the poor gingers? What people should be asking KH is what we do about it all? Should the gingers dye en masse or die en masse? And the people in the mobility scooters, should they stay indoors always, maybe nailed in so they can no longer offend? Do we ostracise all the Tyler's and Chantelle's, perhaps they should all be home schooled so no one has to play with them or have any of them round for tea? Its very easy to spout off criticism of elements of society for the sake of it but it all gets rather more sinister when you try to think of solutions to her offense. The things she says have no constructive value and are simply aimed to hurt. I'm not sure I see where the truth in that is.

and just in reply to Kazannes post. Personally I prefer a person who's capable of putting their opinion across in a way where people will actually listen to it. All katie does is spout off vile crap for a reaction, there is no other purpose to these opinions as far as I can see.

There comes a point where most people's conscience would kick in, but I am afraid she puts money and fame(so called fame) above anything else.

"She's just speaking the truth" is merely one of a few excuses trotted out for her, excuses that happen to contradict each other. "She's just joking" and "She's just playing up to a persona" are the other big ones. They can't all be the case.

It's just people trying to make (weak) excuses for the fact that she says downright horrible things. Yet, when people on the forums or housemates criticise her (hey, they're just speaking the truth, right?), all hell breaks loose.

She certainly does tell the truth and that is the beauty of her, she doesnt say it behind their backs which others do. She takes criticism on the chin and admits that as she gives she will take back.

If she doesnt give comfort why did she comfort Michelle, why did she laugh and banter with Alicia, she was the one who went to her and put her arms around her. Why did she go and throw herself at Nadia to give her "cuddles" and "kisses" someone who really dislikes her. Why is she standing up for Kav against the rest. Why did she shake hands with Nadia and then Nadia immediately goes and talks behind her back.

The rest are gradually becoming Perez' clique with his three main stays, Nadia, Keith and KP. He may even win over Michelle. I guess they all love a rumble and tumble in the bitterness spuddling line which is Perez, he surely is turning that spoon and the pot is getting bigger with those who think he is so truthful. Gosh he has so many bullets and they each have a gun.

I don't like her...sometimes she is brave to say things that others wouldn't dare to say. I dislike it when she gets personal and picks on people for personal traits. She does it for effect...it's cruel and unnecessary most of the time but it's made her a lot of money.
I think people like her because she makes a brilliant housemate...she has entertained us for all the wrong reasons but she has spoken her mind...she hasn't failed in that department and she has helped make the show compelling watching.
Let's face it....every episode has been amazing...she gets booed but she still speaks her mind. She isn't afraid to...she isn't trying to change the publics mind of her unlike some.
I don't think many would like her for some of the stuff she says... But she has helped make this CBB brilliant and that's in her favour.

I think you will find she only tells her 'truth' that doesn't mean it's true even if you agree with it, others don't.

And yes why did she do all that comforting and laughing around because from her own mouth last night in the DR she specifically said she cares not one bit for the lionesses in the house, her own words, clearly meaning the females, so it was basically an act then?

And yes she certainly does bitch and say things behind other hm's backs, like she did with Keith the other day muttering under her breath whilst stomping away that 'everything has to be all about him' and like she did in the DR saying Michelle was her biggest competition in the house when she is supposedly her friend and again like she did with Cami saying she was very immature behind her back.

She hasn't said any of that to these peoples faces.

Seriously not getting how people can deny this hypocrisy when it is being shown daily.

But everything I have replied to in your post doesn't connect to what my question actually was in the OP.

Even if you do think she 'speaks the truth' why are all these truths nasty and aimed at other people then? why are none of them nice truths?
