I'm sure I read that Jeremy was right out of rehab and into BB. That doesnt excuse his actions at all but honestly..BB should have known better than to ply someone like that full of alcohol and expect everything to be fine.

You know my methods
|
It was a publicity stunt
in years gone by there would have been "This is Big Brother, can Aaron come to the diary room" Then they would have hauled him over the coals and told him that if he does that again they would turf him. end of |

Plus even if Joel was gay, what gives Aaron the right to behave the way he did round him!

points 1 and 2 don't really count because Joels has no idea how it would be taken...unless you're claiming he's playing a game and not being true to himself for. ..which is what I believe his whole diary room waffle was all about. |

Unfortunately in society it does seem sometimes that (camp, obvious) gay people are beyond criticism for their actions without homophobia being screamed. A straight guy cannot be uncomfortable with a guy coming onto them or they are homophobic...or a closet case. Most people are not ignorant to this skewed view. This may not be the case everywhere but it definitely is where I live. I personally know of 2 people who have been arrested for 'homophobic' attacks when it was nothing of the sort. People in general are extremely cautious about doing anything that might be perceived as them being anti-gay...as such it creates a kind of walking on eggshells thing I hope I have put this across right because I have wrote it a few times and deleted it thinking that this kind of thing wont go down well on here But it has been my experience

The way people, men in particular, are being made so scared to say anything to gay men in case they get accused of being homophobic is disgusting, I as a gay man find it absolutely vile that so many people throw out the homophobic card so easily and it just screws with the meaning of the word. Prissy gays who think everything bad that happens to them is based on homophobia are my least favourite people in the world, it's honestly horrendous, I've seen people try to destroy people's lives using this tactic and it makes me sick, so people defending Aaron, by saying that people are only persecuting him because he's gay or that Joel was only uncomfortable because he's a 'clear closet case' is not only offensive, but highly dangerous.

Yeah I get you Vicky. Nice post.
I still think he lied about how he really felt about it in the diary room though. |

A) because you could be wrong about, and they could be straight, and find yourself facing a lawsuit. B) It may cause serious problems for the person you are outing. In some countries it is still illegal to be homosexual, and they may be imprisoned or even killed. Even in the Uk gay members of some religions (Eg Roman Catholic) may still suffer from the attitudes of their congregation. C) Even without the above reasons, Sexuality is a personal issue that everyone should have the right to deal with in their own way. I dont think that Joel is gay, and I dont care anyway. As for Aaron there maybe a plus side for him to, with any luck he will have learnt that it is not always apropriate to behave in the way he has in the house, and therefore avoid getting into far more serious trouble than he has so far. |
