Ah right, oh it's different when it's about HMs as they are so changeable.

I've been accused of being a sheep before because I mainly have same opinions as another member(but we have disagreed many times) but i've liked/had the same opinion for years way before i was active on this site.

I've never been a sheep as such, but some of the decisions I've made have been influenced by those in my friendship groups.

How can you be sure if someone is just being deliberately awkward though if they don't agree with the majority? maybe they just really have a different opinion

Yeah I would say there's quite a wide gap between being a sheep and being deliberately awkward.

Being an individual and having an opinion of your own is very important to me. So i would never choose to be a sheep, but i would also say that not being a sheep does not automatically imply that you are an awkward person.

..I would say that both are extremes and extremes are never good so neither really..if you're being deliberately awkward, then you're not being individual..individual is a natural thing, it's not deliberate...you just are..

I strongly agree with this.
I think that although you and I have different political opinions, we are fairly similar, so regardless of how your opinion differs with mine, I have to admire your stance (awkwardness ) and admire the stance of most people who hold a passionate opinion.

Having a minority opinion can make you unpopular to the majority and so you need thick skin. Some people don't really have an opinion but prefer to remain with the popular majority and that's fine, it doesn't make them sheep, it just means they prefer to play things safe and remain popular.

The last part of your post defines what I think a sheep person is like, they are so scared to be in the minority group with whatever opinion so they just go with the majority even if they don't care about the topic at hand.

Sheep. I don't think being awkward is that bad at all, I'd say I'm awkward - not to piss people off I just generally support the under dog.

That's an interesting one Amy. A person who isn't necessarily forthright but who is willing to jump in and support the underdog, even if that means losing their own popularity. In my world that isn't being awkward.

I would say that such a person holds high moral values and insists on fairness. I would call these sorts 'diplomats'
