Olly Murs "still in talks" about X Factor future.
Quote:
While Caroline Flack has apparently quit The X Factor, her co-host Olly Murs has yet to make a decision about his future with the show.
The 31-year-old singer-songwriter is currently working on his fifth studio album, which is due to be released later this year. This means he might not actually be available to come back.
Olly's team confirmed to Digital Spy that he is still in talks with his management about an X Factor return.
They added that he has a busy 2016 already lined up writing, recording and releasing the follow-up to his chart-topping album Never Been Better.
Former X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw has already confirmed his departure from the series, leaving an empty seat on the panel.
"I did love it and it's not a diss to the show. It's a great show and I loved it. But it's definitely a once in a lifetime style thing," he said.
"This isn't me storming out of X Factor being like, 'Screw you, Cheryl'."
He added: "You can't have a curry when you're on it on a Saturday night, because you're there.
"What's really good about X Factor is watching it at your house with your friends [and] having a curry. When you're there, there's no curry. Simon promised me curry."
Louis Tomlinson and Louis Walsh are the early favourites to replace Grimmy on the ITV talent show, which will return to screens later this summer.
Flack is reportedly in talks for a role in the West End revival of Chicago, a time commitment that would prevent her from taking another series of The X Factor.
