I'm an American obsessed with this absolutely amazing show. I'm also a gay man who is 21 and in college.
Big brother is currently reprimanding Evander Holyfield for saying that he believes homosexuality is a choice and saying that it is in conflict with a large part of the British public and that its against the rules. "held by a large section of society" and then he's forced to say he would not have dared say that to anyone else.... Then big brother warns him to think about the harmful effects of offensive language and that he will not tolerate it. This was truly a 1984 by George Orwell moment for me as an American. His views are really wrong and ignorant and bigoted and bad, but OMG is that really legal in the UK??? To do that??? |

No, it's totally illegal to reprimand someone for voicing unpleasant views about gay people.
