Yeah, it seems like such a bizarre story all round.

I get the feeling they're trying to make a comment on something topical but it's not working.

No why would it be the Jay thing when it's already out there

When you are blackmailing someone it's over a secret that no one knows about, No one knows about Les being Christine. She done this right after he was rude to her, and Les doesn't want Jay to work there because of the reputation it can have on the business.
