I read an interview with Jon Ola Sand earlier - here's what he had to say about what would happen if Australia wins:

Quote:
As for what happens if Australia wins, Sand says they have a plan. “I don’t want to reveal which broadcaster will cooperate with SBS Australia to host it in Europe, but it will be hosted in Europe. We have an agreement in place.”

Welp Joe & Jake will do worse than Molly now, the penultimate slot is too late for people to care anymore, they just want the votes to open already.

Dami getting the latest slot in the first half <3333 I stoll hold hope that she can beat Russia but yeah, 18-23 is usually the best places so Russia has pretty much won at this point.

And not me and Shaun being psychic and predicting Belgium will open. I'm here for Sax rising on iTunes again though!

Sweden was #10 last year and won
Austria was #11 when they won in 2014

Australia has a chance

I honestly don't think placements have too much of an effect on the outcome. People have won in all sorts of positions. I was a little gutted we were second to last because I do agree that by the end people already have their favourites and tend not to care, but Dima Bilan won performing second to last in 2008 (not implying the UK will win bye, I don't think we will).

The song and performance is fundamentally what influences the result.

i agree, if people like a song they will be voting for it, no matter what draw they are in

The only issue in this day of age in Eurovision is that if your one of the first to perform then your practically ****ed, but that's because there are so many acts to get through.

Italy sang last with Il Volo and we came third. So I Don't think is bad singing towards the end.

Guys, if some of you remember Alexander Rybak's Instagram post from about 1-2 weeks ago; he said he was excited that everyone has a chance to break his points record. Everyone has a chance at winning this year because of the new points format.

I'm going to guess the top 5 to be:

1st) Russia/Ukraine
2nd) Russia/Ukraine
3rd) Australia
4th) Armenia/Sweden
5th) Armenia/Sweden

UK's placement isn't great but it could have been a lot worse. ****ing Russia though, practically getting the best slot. They're not even that good!
