ITV bosses are going for gold with this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! line-up.

After Olympians REBECCA ADLINGTON and FATIMA WHITBRED’s past trips to the jungle, producers have lined up another Team GB star for the new series.

I’ve learned they have chosen glamorous hockey star Sam Quek — one of Great Britain’s 27 gold medal winners — to join the camp.

The sporting hero, who was part of the history-making side that beat Holland to bag gold in Rio, will fly out to Australia in the next fortnight to face the wilderness.

A source said: “Sam ticks all the boxes for producers. She’s a hugely successful Olympian and is gorgeous to boot.

“Producers think the personality that has made her a hugely popular member of the GB hockey team will shine through on camera.

“She’s got a bit of experience as a swimwear model too so it goes without saying that they hope that will result in some waterfall scenes that the show is so famous for.”

Bosses also wanted Sam’s teammate MADDIE HINCH, as I revealed last month, but sadly her playing schedule meant it was a no-go.

An ITV spokesman declined to comment on “speculation”, but Merseyside-born Sam is the latest name the channel have signed for the popular show, fronted by ANT AND DEC.

She will join COUNTDOWN legend CAROL VORDERMAN, Gogglebox’s SCARLETT MOFFATT, Emmerdale’s ADAM THOMAS, radio host LISA SNOWDON, cricketer MONTY PANESAR and broadcaster DANNY BAKER.
