Police said there had been no prior intelligence about Masood's intention to carry out an attack.
But he was known to the police and his previous convictions included GBH, possession of offensive weapons and public order offences.
His first conviction was in November 1983 for criminal damage and his last conviction was in December 2003 for possession of a knife.
He had not been convicted of any terrorism offences.

Apparently if they were'nt having a vote in Parliament then the gate wouldn't have been open and the terrorist wouldn't have got in past it.
However if they weren't having that vote then Michael Fallons security guard wouldn't have been there to shoot him either.
So it's only by circumstance of the day and time that he was taken down by the security.I suppose it could've been worse if he hadn't got past that gate.Or maybe not.

And yes i suppose its best he got through the gate and focused his attention on a police man rather than butchering lots of random members of the public. Seems a bit strange that he would crash the car, surely the most distruction would come from randomily driving around london for a 20-30 minutes before the police finally shoot him.
