Idk who this jody woman so i cant comment.

But they whole katie price thing is different to nicola's heartbreaking story that is self awareness. Just because its nicola mclean or other z list glamour girls dont mean its different to anyone else going on a tv show for the same reason even non celebs.

And your mum dealt with her own way. Jake's mum dealt with it her own way. Nicola is dealing with it her own way. They're all different women and will have their own way of coping with bad cards that life has dealt them.

But the best way is to do it behind close doors with family because you are gonna open yourself up to criticism on telling story on national tv

There really isn't a better way of dealing with tragic events. Everyone does what they think is best, talking about it openly helps too.

God forbid she goes on tv to talk about something serious. Nicola doing it is the same as others. Are people meant to shut up about it? It shouldn't matter who they are. Dont let your hate for them overshadow everything

I don't feel strongly enough about her to hate her.

"People" aren't meant to shut up about anything. But I got bored of Nicola's narcissistic "pity me, I have a hard life. Look at me pout" act and self promotion long ago.

If you think she made this appearance for anything other than for her to be on TV and maybe the fee then good for you.

I highly doubt the fee would be a lot. Its probably **** money but no one knows if the guest get paid, some come on to promote their products, self awareness and stuff.

Probably not but that's what the majority of her "career" has been. Lol.

They do get paid, hence they always make a fuss when they have a guest who "is not getting paid for this appearance".

There isn't one correct way to react to illness. Just different ways.

Nicola has decided to publicly speak about her experiences.

I disagree the best way to deal with things is 'behind closed doors'.

Jade Goody is a great example to a woman choosing to highlight her diagnosis of terminal cancer in the hope of educating others and encouraging women to go and get tested. Her doing that actually saved lives.

I didn't see the interview today. Was Nicola promoting getting regular smears and checks or just telling her story? If she was promotion women's health matters then its an important issue....Otherwise it is just getting her face on TV. As Amy said, jade goody's story prompted a lot if young women to start having smears et and early detection is essential in getting quick and effective treatment so any "celeb" highlighting those issues is a benefit.

Actually, IIRC, Jade Goody made her illness so public with documentaries, newspaper coverage and interviews/videos etc etc to raise money to leave for her sons so they could have a good education/life. She was very open about that.

It having the effect it did on so many women getting themselves checked was probably a very positive side effect.

I personally believe they go hand in hand. Hearing somebody talk about their experiences is always helpful even if it's only reaches one person, the other day when Michelle Heaton showed her scarring from a double mastectomy my mum and I had a chat about it, the very same night I checked myself in the shower, something I never usually do tbh.

I'm not saying Nicola isn't occasionally an attention seeker but personally I appreciate her being so open, on twitter people were telling her it made them think or they learned something.

I saw the interview she was just saying that she had a lot of troubles in her life and telling how she was told she might have to have her ovaries removed as she had cysts on them and they kept coming back and she was devastated as she coudn't have any more kids, that was about it Oh and that she had been on BB TWICE,but would't do another one and she was grateful to Coleen being in there as she was so anxious, there was no urging women to get anything checked, she was just talking about her own issues. I have had a cyst on the ovary and had to have the ovary removed,I have to say when the cyst was there it was extremely painful, so better to get ovary removed.

Once again it's all about her. Unfortunate...yes. It's hard to be told you can't have anymore children if that's what you want BUT she has been blessed with two healthy children..many have no children and given that devastating news. That's tragic...be grateful for what you have and have empathy for those that don't have what she desires 'more of'....she should empathise with women like Kim who she outrageously and thoughtlessly lambasted with her cruel words.
Selfish..greedy and tactless sums her up.

This tbh except the Kim bit. I'm sure it was stated Nicola didn't know about Kim's past when she made that comment in the house. The rest though? Bang on.

Yeah, it was stated. Personally, I think she's a bitch who denies being so when caught out.

It's tragic both ways tbh. just because she already has kids doesn't mean she should be ok with knowing she isn't allowed more kids. My friend with two kids went through the same thing, I wouldn't dare to say or think "you already have two kids, be grateful because there others who can't have kids" because it seems quite rude and heartless. A woman deserves to be able to have how many kids they want and it's tragic how there's a chance it could be taken away from them but that's how life works i guess. I wouldn't wish that on anyone

Let's face it there's not much this woman doesn't make dramatic. We saw in BB how she would have a breakdown over a chipped nail.
