Yeah it's not like politics has ever involved applying pressure wounds to society based on views or anything so happenstance.

It's an absolute shambles. There's only so far they can spin this DUP thing... Anyone who knows anything about politics, if they're being honest, knows it's a mess.

I just think that some of their views are so nasty that May has shown that she is so desperate to cling on to her power is more important than anything.

I honestly think any coalition with the DUP is a disastrous idea, not only are they incompatible with the Tories, or most UK parties, but it could also end up destablising peace in Ireland again. Just for the Tories short term gain, it would be absolute suicide for the Tories in the long term.

they are elected members of parliament that got there through a democratic process.

What is the party with the most seats supposed to do, just say **** it and go straight back to the country for another election? all the other parties have said they wont cooperate with the tories.

The DUP won't cooperate with labour, so labour cannot achieve a majority under any combination of cooperating parties.

So the options are to continue with a government, get the negotiations started with the EU with another election probably within the next 12 months, or go back to the country within the next 30 days with nothing resolved.

Before people criticise they should at least think about what they are criticising.

The DUP have been voting in parliament for years, often supporting the Tory party, see no difference now.

its an almighty ****ing mess .... but I feel we should at least be sympathetic to the current realities.

An election in 6 months to a year is probably the best solution for everyone, and everyone can prepare with that in mind.

20 votes in Kensington as Labour win it for the first time. And to think I got about 5 members of my Fiance's family to go and vote even if they deemed it a "lost cause".

Maybe, but I feel like some serious apathy is going to kick in at some point. The number of major votes there will have been in the space of 3 or 4 years... Plus the Indyref up here. Turnouts will definitely start to drop.

thats why we need time, going back to the country in 30 days would cause a revolt. They need to let things settle for a bit. Its absolutely inevitable that the government will lose a vote in parliament sooner or later in the months that follow and at that point there will be another GE, Hopefully it gives everyone at least a little breathing space.

Actually she and the DUP are likely well suited,Mrs May has pretty horrible nasty thinking herself as well.

Just a massive pity either have anything to do with governing the UK.

I'm really pleased Labour picked up Kensington. London is rapidly becoming completely Labour.

The polling shows that of the swing voters, the Tories picked up working class leave voters, while Labour picked up remain voters with degrees. It's flips the traditional class voting pattern when appealing to the undecided as opposed to the party faithful.

Ruth Davidson told BBC Scotland she has received an assurance from Theresa May on protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and/or intersex (LGBTI) rights in Northern Ireland.

I was fairly straightforward with her and I told her that there were a number of things that count to me more than party. One of them is country, one of the others is LGBTI rights.

She said she received, a “categoric assurance” from the prime minister that an arrangement between the Conservatives and the DUP would see “absolutely no rescission of LGBTI rights in the rest of the UK”.

Reassuring at least.
