BUT

Channel 4 put in whoever they want to. If they want a transexual to win, they put in Nadia (BB 5) and no competition. If they want a tourette's sufferer to win, they put in Pete (BB 7), and no competition...

You get the idea? Big Brother isn't really a contest, you know.

I suppose you could argue that the producers made it interesting by putting the twins together at the last minute, and that'd be a perfectly reasonable argument, but it didn't make much difference to the big picture. Brian still smashed them in the vote.
Dude, check your first post in this thread. YOU reckon you wanted Bri to win yet you called him on the race vote. This is why we think you're being unreasonable.

Me personally being one of those who'd get your sympathy vote.

Jack, I thought Nadia was a rubbish winner, but even so, look at the competition. I couldn't really pick a better winner for BB 5.

I don't expect everone to agree with the theory, it's just my opinion.

I never mentioned the "sympathy" vote. I think that was a mistake in the opening post, if anything.

My first post referred to the thread title.

At the start of BB5, Nadia was a rank outsider. But your not really answering my question. Who you wanted to win is not the issue. It's the fact you said Channel 4 put her in with the intentions that she'd win. Why would they do that?

It's a great story. It's all about the underdog. It's about accepting someone who's drastically different than everybody else.

Nadia was treated like a Queen in that house. Look at the way she was given cigarettes everytime she screamed for them. Look at the other people put in the house to act as her "lipgloss bitches". Look at the bodybuilding, vain ponce (Jason) put in for "her" to clash with. It was tailored for her to win.

Dude, n this thread, you said channel 4 got their winner after the Shilpa ****. YOU reckon Shilpa won because she's Indian. Simple as. She won because we love her, accept it! Same as Brian!

Well you make up your own **** and put words in my mouth if you want, but that's why I told you if you're going to try and fudge the issue and show you can't understand the conversation, we can't discuss it.

If you'd said you voted Brian first, I'd have believed you. The fact you played the racism card for him winning makes me wonder. Accept it.

Brian rocked, i don't believe his race had FA to do with it.

Me niether, his personality won it.

...but his race had something to do with him being chosen for the role in the show in the first place.

Red moon; stay out of it. We WE'[RE arguing with each other?

Fair enough the chosen one;

I felt your initial post was going for the race card which I think was unfair. But if you really mean that;

Peace and unity!

---

But your comments about his race I cannot accept. I don't believe if I'm ever a BB contestant it will be for my race, I have every trust in BB/chanel4.

I don't think race is generally an issue for BB, but this series, after CBB5, race was definitely an issue.

Hopefully we can get back to normal from now on.

I'm really sad it happened only because he was black. I mean after what happened in CBB5 they needed a black person to win, so well done Brian but you don't deserve it. Like Pete, the producers wanted to give a message and fixed the game for the finale.

Yeah I was on about the "first newcomer " thing as well last night, I mentioned that at one time it was impossible for a latecomer to even get in the final, let alone win Big Brother over someone who had been in from Day 1.

I think it was Brian's personality and popularity with the fans that allowed him to emerge the eventual winner, race never came into it and Brian was treated exactly the same as the other housemates by both the public and everyone who was in there with him. I'm sure a black person in the house getting this much respect has proved the critics wrong over the CBB5 racism row, any backlash following that or Emily's removal from the house would certainly be unfounded now.
