The Mummy (2017)
Not as bad as I was expecting from the reviews but it doesn't hold a candle to the 1999 film. It had its moments. 7/10

i saw Dunkirk. I wrote a proper review for this but I wont write it all out here.
easily one of nolans weaker films but it was still pretty entertaining as it looked stunning and I would recommend u seeing this on imax just because how wonderful it looked. what bothered me the most was how little character any of these people had which I know was deliberate but you couldn't exactly care about any of them. too many events were going on at once which took the tension away from the actual film and it made it boring to watch (especially within the second act). but the first and the third act were both amazing especially the last 30 mins. the soundtrack was also incredible bringing the whole film to life. the acting was solid but some line delivery was off yet harry styles was actually good. overall with its flaws a solid war film. 7/10 |

Dunkirk - 8/10
It's an incredibly well made and crafted film. Countless scenes in there that are among the most tense I've ever seen in film. I agree with Ethan above though, I did care about the father and son on the boat and Tom Hardy's character, but the 3 main characters we follow who are actually at Dunkirk don't get much development, which is fine as that is the intention, but it made it difficult to care about them as film characters. Speaking of though, I really liked that it had big names like Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, and Cillian Murphy yet the 3 main characters were all newcomers. Harry Styles performance was actually really good as well, the best of the main 3. Excellent film overall but not the best of the year which I was expecting.. that still goes to Baby Driver so far. |

I saw a film today called the beguiled and I was genuinely surprised at how wonderful this movie turned out to be. this film hasn't had a lot of representation in the media as the budget is very low and its only showing for a short amount of time. the beguiled was so wonderfully filmed as the cinematography made this movie what it is as the story slowly unwraps so does the cinematography becoming wilder as the film goes on. the acting was pretty solid especially for kid actors (though some line delivery went downhill after a while). this movie is very slowly paced but its deliberate as it sets the tone for this entire movie. I would recommend seeing this one 9/10

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.
I would give it 7/10 but I sort of think it's only a relevant film if you know Lonely Island's stuff / are a fan of it. It's basically Lonely Island The Movie. I suspect it would just be a bit bizarre for the uninitiated . |

Blair Witch
It was watchable, I didn't like that it removed all sense of ambiguity from the original though. |

It was quite a likable film although it's tone felt all over the place. It's main failing is that it tries to be too many different things at once and some of the characters ultimately feel like cartoon characters. Despite that though I did like it but I do think that it's a touch overrated. 7/10. |

valerian and the city of a thousand planets 4/10-
this movie does look stunning but that is the only thing going for it as beyond the floating aliens and the colourful lights theres a broken plot awful acting and unbearable dialogue. honestly this whole film is almost as cringy as the name and honestly I felt myself laughing unintentionally often. both actors were terrible and didn't convey a believeable performance at all. I would recommend passing this one. |

Westworld (1973): 7/10
Been meaning to give this another watch ever since the television remake started, I'd only seen it once years ago. Not really fair to compare them since they're so different beyond the "robots in an amusement park go wrong" premise, obviously there's a lot more to the TV series whereas the movie is more straightforward and simple, but it's still enjoyable in its own right. A big chunk of the movie (pretty much the first hour) is essentially set-up for the final act but I didn't mind it taking its time to get to that, rather that than rushing it at the expense of building the tension. Also a lot of surprisingly funny moments in the first half I'd forgotten about. Yul Brynner is brilliant, there's so much uncanny valley in his performance (and I read that his role influenced John Carpenter in creating Michael Myers so get that impact) Also very ahead of its time with the computer virus concept. |

A Street cat Named Bob (6/10)
- Loved the cat and it was all lovely, but not a lot of story. Be a good Xmas film but that's it.
