It's supposed to be a springboard for these peoples career and yet year after year even since series 1 they have yet to find a star or even someone who has more than a few minor hits.
I feel the format is to impersonal with to many contestants for the public to get behind one. They really need a change in format to make us actually care enough about these people to want to buy their music.

I love the voice, for me shows like that are just about the show itself rather than whether or not the contestants get famous/successful from it.

Only one that I can think of that's had some success is Becky Hill and she seems like she'd have 'made it' without the show anyway.

It's dire and the lack of lives is half of the problem because you can't get to know the acts. And now X Factor is repeating that mistake again
I also watch these shows as light entertainment so wall-to-wall amazing singers being heaped with praise isn't interesting. And if XF is cutting down on the crap acts this series it's gonna be a poor show there too |

It's just very impersonal and it's hard to get behind anyone. Where is mo from the last series? It seems they don't invest anything into the acts and that's a major flaw seeing as they have "coaches" who are supposed to mentor them to a succesfull career.

I agree about the personalities being good so far, but I'd still like some crap acts to bring a more humorous side to the auditions |

Axe them all. These talent shows are tired and past their sell by dates.

It really is bad. What's the point in investing so much time into a show when there's no payoff? You literally never hear of anybody from the show (outside of Becky Hill) ever again.

The point is to entertain you. If it doesn't then don't watch, you have a choice. Do what you like to do, don't just do it because it's there, do it because you enjoy it.
I never watched The Voice, I used to watch Xfactor, but I've stopped watching that in the last few year's, because I thought, it's boring now and I can find better things to watch. But the answer to your question is. The point is to entertain you. |
