I remember being in a group convo on MSN back in the day, and all the Americans said sidewalk, the British people said pavement and they made fun of me because I said footpath

Yes sidewalk! Ha footpath, that's a new one for me too. Also isn't pavement kinda broad since all kinds of ground can be considered pavement?

most American words like pants and sidewalk were actually used here first and have changed but have stuck in America due to America being a much, much younger country
