Default Deranged Perez Hilton Won’t Put His Son In Dance Class Because “Boys Who Take Dance C

Quote:
Perez Hilton: Many boys who take dance class ‘end up being gay’
By Bryan Hood April 2, 2018 | 3:47pm

Perez Hilton doesn’t care about the controversy he’s stirred up: He’s not signing up his 5-year-old son for dance class.

“I’m not going to put a number on it, but I would say a good amount — maybe like 50 percent or more — of little boys who take dance class end up being gay,” Hilton, who is gay, said in a video posted to his website on Sunday.

“I don’t think that’s a homophobic thing to say,” the 40-year-old continued. “Just like I don’t think it’s a homophobic thing to say that a disproportionate amount of male singer/actor/dancers on Broadway are gay. There are more gay men drawn to that profession. That’s not homophobic, that’s just a fact.”

Last week on his podcast, the blogger-turned-television personality said that he’d prefer for his son, Mario, to grow up straight because it’s “easier.” And because of that, Hilton said he would not be enrolling him in dance class.

“Ultimately, every decision I make for my son is what I think is best for his future. I don’t want to do anything that could potentially hurt him,” he said.

Hilton, who stressed that he believes he was born gay, said he does not think his son is and would not encourage him to join dance class because it “might help make your son gay.”

But as the video went on, Hilton said he would let his son join dance class if that’s what Mario really wanted.

“And if he really wanted to take dance class — which he hasn’t expressed that — if he begged and pleaded, if I saw that would make him truly happy, I would do that,” he said.

Hilton — who is also the father of two daughters, 2-year-old Mia and 5-month old Mayte — said that no matter what Mario grows up to be, he will continue to love and support him.

“If my son turns out to be gay, or if he turns out to be gay but not able to articulate that yet because he’s only 5, I will love my son unconditionally and support him. If my son is transgender, I will love him and support him unconditionally.”

I would NOT think this way but eh I don't really see anything too wrong here? Especially if maybe he suffered from homophobia in his life, felt it was more difficult being gay or what not, and doesn't want the same to happen to his son.

If he forced his child to not join dance class for that reason it'd be different but he's just not aiming/wanting to put his son in dance class. A parent can try to get their child to join / not join any class they want.

That's all that matters.

And he wasn't bashing his son, or homosexuals, etc.

He might be stupid though. Like I don't think his son joining dance class would ever be the reason he's gay? At least I don't think that's how that works.

That makes it infinitely worse. Imagine suffering from homophobic abuse and then letting it get to you to the point where you're trying to avoid your son finding out they're gay. He is incredibly stupid like you said at the bottom but just because he is and just because he isn't outright bashing his son or gay people doesn't excuse how ridiculous his thought process is here.

Eh, yeah I agree that's fair enough. "Trying to avoid your son finding out they're gay" I didn't really think about it in that specific way.

It is pretty wrong but I still wouldn't call him "homophobic" for anything he said though. He has the wrong thought process for sure though even if his intentions aren't bad.

The fact that if anything could "make" a child gay, he thinks it would be dance classes and not having bloody Tinkerbell who he calls Dad.

To some people commenting on here, how is not signing your kid up for a dance class when he didn’t even ask to be avoiding your son of finding out whether he’s gay?

For those who think that I think they need to reconsider who’s the homophobe in this situation.

He didn't say he hasn't signed his son up because his son doesn't want to dance.

He said dance classes make them gay.

Perez Hilton is a bit of a tortured personality, so not surprising at all he would hold this kind of self-view...
