It just sounded like you was interested in all this medical data so I was just wondering whether you had any information on the flu, because it's an odd story of one day it being there and the next day just vanishing.

its not possible to stop a variant spreading across the world and in this case, if it does prove to be milder, opening borders to it may actually save lives, an argument that sadly isn't being given much attention but is very likely to be true

In principle this is a good point however the “Omicron is milder” narrative has grown legs and started to run way, waaay before enough data is available to actually make this claim with any certainty. There are some observed and anecdotal indications that it might be milder. You can’t forge ahead with a policy based on it being milder until there’s at least some actual science behind that idea. “Some South African doctors said!” isn’t science.

Johnson has said you must test each day
to find out.

His new rules caused this

That’s LF tests, nothing to do with any PCR test shortage (if there is one).

Netherlands, tonight new covid press conference

evening lockdown extended with 1 extra month until at least January 14th

pubs, restaurants and non-essential stores must close at 17:00 PM CET

this too means no amateur sports or going to the gym after that time

primary schools will close one week earlier than expected because of the omicron variant

because these schools will close quite soon from now the school officials are trying to place vulnerable children and/or children with parents who have essential jobs in daycare centres

schools are being asked to educate the children from home, but our parliament will be very understanding if this isn't possible

special education schools remain open for the time being with the 1.5 metre social distancing and wearing face masks in hallways

OMT member and Virologist Marion Koopmans has requested that the DA will do something about various hate mails she and other OMT and RIVM employees have received, on twitter she has shared one of these nasty hate mails

what the solution is, she does not know but OMT has stated they support her with this claim
