Maybe we need another debate and Trump can invite the FBI director's Monica Lewinsky as one of his guests... |

Hmm. And anyone who believes that Trump has never broken any law in his business dealings has to be a sandwich short of a picnic.
So essentially what you have... is the most powerful country in the world holding a binary leadership election, and both options are criminals who should probably be doing 8+ years in prison, rather than an 8 year stretch as president. shambles. |

This is an interesting overview on it all...
Hillary Clinton emails - what's it all about? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-31806907 Clinton staffers told the FBI that they destroyed some of the replaced devices with a hammer while they could not account for others

Ooh Trump down to 11/4 (just under 3/1). I got the sucker at 5/1. Let's hope for more leaks!

Few people also vote in primaries which means we are stuck with the same "safe" choices over and over again... except the ppl who vote in them don't vote on steady options now... they vote based on rhetoric/desire to reform (wildcard candidates). We can have a reasonably good president to run the country if our expectations were more realistic and we looked at people's record, not how charismatic they are on TV. We also put too much pressure on such a person to solve the nation's issues when it should involve the entire nation/government. Also who would want that job coupled with all the scandals, unfair scrutiny and ridiculous rhetoric going around?... oh yeah, people who are power hungry and are obsessed with fame. That attracts the worst kind of candidate. Last edited by Maru; 28-10-2016 at 08:25 PM. |

Same was true of the last UK General Election, to be fair. Just with less criminal activity and misogyny, more awkward sandwich skills and pig-****ery. We so British.

She could sacrifice a child every month on the full moon to an ancient Blood God and she'd still be a better candidate for the presidency than Trump.

The saddest thing about this nobody could ever design her an email which would make her a worse candidate than Trump.
Its a bad year for the Western world.

Another live feed. Go back about 10 minutes to see her statement.
That would only be a good thing if a third party came in to take over Supposedly according to CNN, someone asked her as she was leaving from making her statement if she was worried if this would sink her campaign and she let out a "defiant" laugh as they termed it... |

...what a grim mess for poor America...and obviously possible world repercussions...
..I think it's easy to think haha Hilary and then we have to remind ourselves that the alternative is haha Trump.../either way it was never going to be anything other than a lose/lose situation.....there is no 'victory' in Trump becoming president, there is no 'victory' in Hilary either... |

As awful as she is I still think I prefer her over Trump, I think it's because the negatives about him hit at more of an emotional level with his attitudes etc, whereas she's awful in more of a bureaucratic way, like it's hard to feel emotional about emails (as much as what she's done is wrong and stupid and probably makes her wrong for the job). So emotionally I'm kind of apathetic towards her, whereas Trump just makes my skin crawl.

..in the blue corner we have Donald who may cause the skin crawling of many individuals in the world in his reign of power.../..in the red corner we have Hilary who may cause a worldwide skin crawl in her reign of power..../grim, grim, grim...if only we could all opt out of buying tickets for America's new theme park...

Sometimes the most informed and honest assessment of things comes from the people you least suspect. This little girl is a lot smarter than most adults (and most people on this forum).

You gotta admit she is very adorable and she does make a very good case over who to vote for.

Poor America, my ass. Show up to primaries!!! Quote:
The good thing about this election is that it proves that people are hungry for better option(s), so there is hope. If I can raise funds to help a sick dog within days with no preexisting network/no followers on social media, then surely we can help fund a new party or group of people to get in and shake up the govt. People wanted a quick fix. They got it alright, except what they got was a fixed election instead. Change is never going to be easy. I could be like some others and be upset over it but why? Can you really expect your voice to be heard if you don't actually vote?? I'm proud to live in a country where at least we can vote. I have 0 regrets and if someone whines about the choices and then tells me they didn't vote in the primary, I give them an earful. Last edited by Maru; 29-10-2016 at 07:15 PM. |
