Default Silly Lewis Hamilton...

The former world champion, 25, was pulled over by Victorian police in Melbourne on Friday evening local time after officers witnessed him “deliberately losing traction”.

The McLaren driver, who was fastest in second practice for this weekend's Australian Grand Prix, was stopped near the Albert Park circuit.

Hamilton released a statement through McLaren, apologising for his actions.

He said: "I was driving in an over-exuberant manner and, as a result, was stopped by the police. What I did was silly, and I want to apologise for it."

He was with an unnamed passenger in the car. Police sources said officers did not realise who they had pulled over.

Local reports said he did “a burnout and a fishtail” in his latest series silver Mercedes in front of a Victoria Police divisional van, in the suburb of St Kilda, where officers then pulled him over.

Police said he is now expected to be charged with a court summons “in relation to improper use of a motor vehicle”. His vehicle has been impounded for 48 hours under tough new local driving laws.

“A 25 year-old man who resides in Switzerland … was seen driving about 9.15pm when the driver deliberately lost traction of the vehicle,” said Constable Wayne Wilson a Victoria police spokesman.

“The vehicle was intercepted by police. The driver was spoken to by officers and is expected to be charged on summons in relation to the improper use of a vehicle.”

It is expected he will appear in court at a later date.

After the incident became public, Hamilton was forced to issue a statement through his team apologising for his actions.

“This evening, I was driving in an over-exuberant manner and, as a result, was stopped by the police," Hamilton said.

"What I did was silly, and I want to apologise for it."

A Mclaren team spokesman declined to comment further.

I like him but what a fool, his own fault, had to laugh at the McLaren people on the news report trying to block Lewis' Mercedes.. he looked peed off but not even the PR could save them both from the embarrassment oh well at least he won in the qualifying.

Lewis Hamilton has apologised after being arrested in Australia for performing a "burnout" in a silver Mercedes.

The Formula One ace admitted that he was driving in an "over-exuberant" manner when he carried out the tyre-smoking stunt, similar to a "doughnut", on a busy Melbourne street.

The 25-year-old is in the country ahead of today's Grand Prix and said that his behaviour had been silly. According to The Sun, the Brit left black rubber marks on the road behind him and was arrested on suspicion of "improper use of a motor vehicle".

A breath test carried out by police at the road side was negative, witnesses said.

In a statement, Hamilton said: "This evening I was driving in an over-exuberant manner and was stopped by police. What I did was silly. I want to apologise."

what a lovely role model........Cúnt

Lewis is still young, what was Michael's reason?

Schumacher crash stuns car dealer

Michael Schumacher was unhurt in the collision in Lydd on Sunday
A Kent car dealer who was sent flying when a van struck a barrier was shocked to discover the driver was the German ex-Formula 1 ace, Michael Schumacher.

Martin Kingham, 39, said he was closing the security gate at his premises in Lydd on Sunday afternoon when a Fiat van struck the end of it.

The barrier hit his leg "sending him spinning" on to the bonnet of a car.

Police called to the incident said they helped both men to swap details and no further action was needed.

Mr Kingham was unhurt, while only minor damage was caused to Schumacher's van in the collision outside Millfield Motors, just before 1600 BST.

'Penny dropped'

He recalled how the police officer called to the scene said: "That chap is claiming to be Michael Schumacher, and I said, 'You know what, he doesn't half look like him'.

"Then the penny suddenly dropped. When I phoned my business partner later and told him that you'll never guess who I've been run over by, he wouldn't believe me.

Martin Kingham explains what happened
"Obviously being a car salesman we do like a wind up but the difference with this story is that it is actually true.

"Michael's entourage turned up and he left."

A spokesman for the seven-time Formula 1 world champion confirmed the incident had taken place and that Schumacher had co-operated with police.

Its a fair enough point. YOu guys are calling Hamilton all the names in the book, for one stupid incident from a young guy like him. PLus dumb ass comments about whiskey and Vodka! Just proves how people are always ready to jump on someone successful, for any little thing, like something so silly, calling him names and stuff. YEah thats very fair indeed. And Hennessy posting that incident with Michael Schumacher a much more mature and older person, is completely relevant, regardless of when it happened! Especially to someone calling Hamilton all these names, with a user name Schumacher.

But I am not at all surprised. I am only shocked that it hasnt been blown more out of proportion. A British driver like Lewis Hamilton, with that much success, any little thing is gonna be scrutinized to death!

I would take offense, if it wasn't for the fact that you have the Username Claymores (embarrassing much?), and avatar.
Yeah that's very normal compared to having the team with the biggest fanbase in the world!

IN any rate, like I said, I am waiting for more, next time Lewis Hamilton gets caught for Jaywalking!

My avatar at the moment is Marcus Crandell for the irony which nobody except other Claymores fans will get.............during the 2000 Season we rotated QBs every quarter. Our other QB couldn't actually throw the ball so it was all Stecker running plays which the other teams would key on. Then we'd rotate to Crandell who had a gun for an arm.

This got us to World Bowl 2000 in Frankfurt. Unfortunately Crandell met some German lass the night before the Bowl and was caught in the hotel room with her by the Head Coach. Coach told him not to even bother suiting up the next day and sent hime home...........as a result we were ****e and lost the World Bowl with our rubbish QB

Thank you! Not that I have a problem with him being a dirty driver, he was still a great driver. But the hypocrisy was obvious, and needed to be pointed out! Again, I havent seen any rational reason for hating Lewis Hamilton, but, it does not come as a surprise.
