Question BB11 'The Death'

So we finally get the real BB11 Trailer this monday.

How exciting, I've been thinking though that the theme of this series may very well be 'Death'

Now, I mean the trailers do suggest alot.

I mean BB5s trailer..
'10 Weeks Summer Holiday? Not this time!'

That was about the shows evil theme.

BB6s I cant remember.

BB7s Twisted Ads showed the BB7 Twisted Theme.

BB8s were just pointless.

BB9s smashed effects, the whole scary music thing was about the Evil, Hard Big Brother with Zero Tolerance.

BB10s were pointless.

CBB7s of course, the return of Evil Big Brother and hell.

So I persume the Ad Campainge for BB11 will be the grave yard.

Now, I predict that they have shot more than one trailer.
And they may have about 3 or 4 diffrent trailers some longer than the other to play through Channel 4 for the next few weeks.

All of the same thing though.

I mean one trailer could show Darnell, Nick and David all looking down.

The other could show the BB Girls throwing roses onto the new eye while in the grave yard.

One could show all the housemates crying, while the camera slowly pans down to the coffin which says 'Big Brother 2000 - 2010' on it.

etc etc

But im worried that this series will be too much of a 'Death Theme'
Think about it, the adverts always show what the graphics and stuff will be like each year right?

The BB11 Eye will probably be black and grey, and scary and depressing.

The house could be dull and depressing.

The titles could be slow and the theme may of changed.

This may not be true, but its worth pointing it out right?

What do you think?
Will BB11 Have a death theme, and would you like it?

It didn't even cross my mind that people were considering this the official trailer. I always thought of it as just an additional trailer. I still think we will be getting a standard thirty second eye graphics trailer to go along with it.

I hope the theme isn't death. Everything would just be morbid

Are we actually getting the trailer on Monday, because the official BB Twitter says we're just getting 'exclusive pics'?

Will the launch date even be confirmed on Monday?

maybe there could be a kind of big brother reborn thing... like the trailer could show all the housemates grieving and show the original bb eye on the coffin etc etc, but it could also show after all the housemates leave the funeral, a flash of lightning and the eye has changed and it's big brother all reborn and new and fresh and back for one last ride
and the house will be all different
and speedy awesome titles like bb7
and it will be all wow and cool
(for the benefit of patrick, "one last ride" means potentially the last ride on channel 4 let's stay kinda optimistic )

I agree they shouldnt dwell on this death theme to much, i think these ads will be great but i dont want the whole theme of the show relating to the death (which i think it will tbh) it will just be dull and depressing and i hope that we still get eye flashes to go with these ads.

I don't mind if they focus it on a death theme or not.. Can't wait for the ads though. Will bring some nostalgiaaaa back I am not sure if they just filmed the graveyard trailer yesterday.. I don't think Luke and Bex were there so just wondering if they are doing it again with another batch of housemates?

Who cares if it's a death theme? The aesthetic theme has nothing to do with the shows actual content. What do you think is going to happen, the housemates turn into fucking zombies or something?

I just read on another thread that Nick has said we wont get the trailer until 2 weeks or somthing.

We probably will get the pictures on the official website on Monday which would mean the holding page has to be up soon but then again how can they have a Holding Page without the eye?

Which could mean we will get the eye over the weekend.

Yeah, theres also a chance the launch date will finally be revealed on Monday or some time next week, I mean im fed up hearing about 4 diffrent launch dates and we dont know which one it'll be.

The theme means alot.

A Depressing house will mean depressed housemates, and bored viewers who dont want to spend a summer looking at a dark and scary house.

The tasks usually depend on the themes too, especially the big tasks.

The theme does basically make up the series in general and its what its always remembered for I mean the first thing that pops into my head when I think of CBB is fire, so BB11 could be remembered for death and depression if this is the theme.

No, the theme means jack shit. I know the way your mind works, very visually, but the visuals have fuck all to do with the show itself, exceptions aside. It's just a fact.

Let's look at your example for the most recent Winter series. A hell theme? Not really. The design ident and house aesthetics were hellacious, but that was about it. Evil Big Brother? Where? Big Brother played some extra mind games with the housemates, but that was about it.

BB9's smashed eye and evil music was a direct clue as to [again] evil Big Brother? How? Most of the trailers sound warped. BB10 was the scariest sounding of the lot in a lot of peoples minds. The smashed eye indicates nothing. Eatock designs the eyes without any input from Channel 4, and Channel 4 then pick a logo.

I could go on. The only series to have a direct, in your face theme was Big Brother 5's. The rest are entirely down to fan assumption.

Why would a depressing house mean depressed housemates? Have you established a psychological link between the two? The BB5 house was probably the most depressed looking of the lot.

I agree totally with CBB7, I do still think of the fire because of the graphics but it was far from evil and I watched it waiting for somthing evil and bad to happen but nothing.

BB5s house was not depressing, Im currently watching it and its not that bad a house, it may not be the brightest but its still alot better than the recent house.. BB10.

I ment the housemates moods could change with the house, I mean if the house is small in a series then the housemates would feel angry and cramped together, if the house is bright and has alot of fun stuff in it then they will be in the mood to have a laugh, do you get me?

I never knew Channel 4 dont tell Eatock which eye to design, do they not even tell him their ideas for the new series or anything?

I assume in the case of BB5 Eatock was told do something evil, but apart from that it's pretty much been him as an independent graphics designer who comes up with a few designs and then C4 pick one. Unless there is a deliberate theme they want to put across, a la BB5.

And yeah, I know what your getting at, but the house really only plays a miniscule part in housemate behaviour. I'm not going to automatically be bright and bubbly because Endemol put me in a house with an orange fucking wall.

Like I said, the advert might be advertising pre-bb shows.

or an advert about getting the public to get involved with the last ever series who knows.
