That's a ridiculous way of looking at it. They're not claiming to miss old 'great' members because they feel they're superior or better to judge - some members have simply been around longer and therefore know more members than newer members.

No - because it's not just that they say they miss old members - some put down new members - with a clear implication that they don't think, that on the whole, new members are of the same 'quality' as old ones!

Who is to judge standards! I dare say some are not too impressed with the standard of the members passing such comments on the new ones! What they really mean is that they miss their friends (and possibley allies) rather than those members actually being 'better' members! Just perspective!

There's a difference between cliques and sharing similar opinions though. You can't brand people just because they don't agree with you.

I don't believe I do - I don't object to people disagreeing - it's the way they do it that counts! There are people who get away with a lot - whilst others get away with far less - it isn't right! There has to be consistency!

But on a site that caters for all ages - it is a bit unfair! It is unlikely that 14 year-olds are going to speak the same language as 30 somethings! All members will have opinions of other members - but for some to keep spouting that some are better than others in threads is just annoying and pointless!

Unlikely, but not unheard of. Look at Jonathon, Lewis, CaraRawr, Twilight. They can all maintain a good debate and speak maturely and are all 14.
